Can I use wireless router with Reliance JioGigaFiber Rs. 1500 ONT

@Deb_1 I think he has adsl model router, not just router. It won't have that mode. All he needs to do is change the router access IP , as same as the IP given by JIO.

@Evilbrain here are the steps :

Connect laptop/pc to jio modem thru LAN, check the IP and gateway, let's say it's 192.168.0.1 gateway on the modem.

Now change your router access IP to 192.168.0.70
Config router DHCP range to 192.168.0.71 to 192.168.0.150 let's say? gateway on the model/router will be 192.168.0.1 DNS will be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.70. Same thing. Put the modem/router to Dynamic IP mode. Now, reboot both modem and modem/router.

It will work. now. PM me or mention me here if you face difficulties. If you do, please do mention the IP's given by Jio modem and IP access of modem/router so that I can be exact.
 
the jio modem i have right now has 2 ethernet ports . ok ?

1 is going into my cpu

and another is going into that D-Link modem

now what ? T_T

@Sushubh i have posted the steps earlier. it's kinda like you are making the modem/router act as in the jio modem thinks it's another device. and ofcourse that modem/router has wifi so it serves the purpose. all we need to do is to allign the IP range to exactly the same as in jio modem to make sure they are on same range. easy. I have done this with ZTE modem/router and D-Link modem/router. Shouldn't be a biggie on t-plink.

I wouldn't recommend the above approach, but instead

1. Change the D-Link router IP address to be in the same range as that of the Jio ONT (say if the Jio ONT is 192.168.0.1, set the D-Link to 192.168.0.2 or whichever you prefer in the same subnet, but easier to remember)
2. Disable DHCP server on the D-Link
3. Update the DHCP range of the Jio ONT to exclude the IP address you assigned to the D-Link
4. Connect the ONT to the D-Link to any of the LAN ports.

Step 2 is the most important part, else it would cause random connectivity issues depending on which DHCP server responds first.
 
@varkey that's basically what I said except the DHCP thingy. Thing is if he doesn't and the modem doesn't recognize the device (sometimes it happens) , then he will need to manually config ipv4. Also random connectivity issue should happen if router/router are on wireless mode, not LAN. Anyways, both our thing works same
 
Yes, but the modem doesn't really have to recognise anything. Its just connecting to a switch, and whichever DHCP server responds first you get an IP address from it (along with the gateway). So step 2 there is very crucial.
 
ok update guys , i figured out how to convert my existing D-Link adsl router to a wan ethernet router

the wifi is working as of now,

had to tinker around a bit , change firmware etc. 😛

ADSL routers doesnt have RJ45 WAN port instead it has RJ11 port now,is it even possible to use the router in bridge mode.I don't think so.
