Reliance Jio Fiber Queries

May be Jio is planning and preparing infrastructure for 5G. May be these orange wires on poles will be use for small Pico cells on electric poles that's why it is connected with mobile towers. It's just a guess. What you think?

Isn't indicates that black ONT may be older model or maybe lower/cheaper version model compared to JCO500 (White)?

Reliance is not the manufacturer of these ONTs. Fiberhome is the OEM for the products.
There are several products under active development at given point of time. Take example of D-Link. Higher model number doesn't always means better product. Model number means nothing. All goes down to the performance. If you gonna get stuck with model numbers you can.

Ok thanks. So can you tell us which one (old white and new black model) feel better in terms of overall plastic quality and device performance i.e., WiFi range & speed ?

2. So, Is internet comes from nearby jio mobile towers to Jio GigaFiber or it is comes from nearby backhaul building or both?

Orange cable that you see is an armoured cables. I have one near my house. They had placed it because of shifting of OLT to a different location. Otherwise all other infrastructure is underground.

(Note:- It is not very thick. It is almost same as normal black pole wire of Jio GigaFiber. It is laid over pole to pole like black Jio GigaFiber wires.)

what should be done about connecting ONT to GigaTV box? What's the best and convenient way to do that? Because my TV is on a different floor altogether.

Although Jio hasn't started its services here, they are almost ready to launch. So It's better to plan in advance.

You can have the Cat 6 going from the Router to the TV Box I believe (if you are not so much worried about the decor).
 
@ajgamer Yeah I have been in contact with 2 people from local jio office they are saying if everything goes to plan we can expect services to start by mid-June.

keeping the router near the tv is not advisable, right?

Man, it will be a very long cable then. haha
 
^ Take anything they say with a grain of salt. Because, I've been listening the same for a good time now. 1 months turns into 1 year, you never know with Jio. They have been on a delaying spree.

Not sure, why keeping router near TV is not advisable.

But, if you want to enjoy speeds? Ethernet is the solution.

I have Ethernet running (not visible though if you don't notice them very carefully) as I don't use WiFis.

I have connected my Multiple Floors via. Ethernet only.

Ethernet is life and that too CAT 6. Whole local network is 1Gbps.

Quality Routers (UBNT and Asus) and Quality Cat 6 (Amazon Basic and D-Link Genuine).
 
yeah... R S Sharma(I like the guy) will remain TRAI chairman.....He already is very vocal about fiberisation. Guess who will bring massive fiberisation to this country!!!😉

I don't have high hopes on him after his Aadhar Controversy. Honestly, He made a joke on himself. TRAI is making some confusing decisions and policies. I hate Thier recent Television channel mandate to the core.
