Can be other 2.4 ghz signals which are interfering. Check with a phone app to see signals at different channels in your area and set it to one that's less congested.@socrates The problem is not the speed, the issue is that it is inconsistent sometimes it drops to 1~2 Mbps. If it remains consistent at 50 Mbps or even 40 Mbps I am happy with that.
Extenders will essentially half your speed and increase ping. I bought one a couple of years back for my Airtel connection (Netgear). Used it for a few hours, hated the speed dip and high pings, and it's just lying unused. There's one Xiaomi one available on AliExpress and a few others too, which are around $35-$50 range

I hit about 70 mbps on 2.4 ghz.50Mbps is normal on 2.4ghz, it was 60-65 but it seems to hav been reduced by Jio. (Don't know why)
Lucky u, it happened to me too in the first month then tapered out.I hit about 70 mbps on 2.4 ghz.
It's been like this for me since more than a year. 70ish on 2.4, 96ish on 5.Lucky u, it happened to me too in the first month then tapered out.
Yah sorry i meant ac not n, I got confused. So is there a benefit of buying AC router especially for decent speeds in 2.4 GHz?Why N ? Why not AC ? Latter has higher theoretical peak speeds, and most recent devices will support AC. I don't think the price difference is anything major now.
On which router are you getting these speeds? The jio one or some other? It's been like this for me since more than a year. 70ish on 2.4, 96ish on 5.
