there are two kinds of caller id tech from my understanding. if you are using a device imported from usa, it would not work on indian lines. you need to add a converter in the middle. at least that's how it works on regular landlines.

Any instrument that worked on BSNL Landline must work here also.

Everybody's plan seems to expire on 4sept now. I hope their servers can take the load of all customers renewing their accounts with plans of their choice😋🥴

i am planning to buy a cordless phone from usa . i found that on Amazon india we get phones working on 2.4 ghz band . that means there will a lot of disturbance coz the jio router also works on 2.4ghz band . cordless phones from usa work on 1.9ghz band . so i took that decision . i will check and inform you guys whether the caller id feature is working here or not

plus as i mentioned in another thread... you would probably need a converter device in middle if you want caller id support on american devices. might add interference to the cordless.

dect6 devices should be available locally. Amazon tends to have one or two models sometimes.

I strongly believe, they'll automatically move everyone to some kind of another offer post 4th Sep midnight. They just did it deliberately to kill the validity of existing plans. If the plans are officially launching on 5th Sep, then technically the validity expires on 4th midnight and you should be with no internet when you wakeup on 5th Sep. With the existing, Jio Recharges, there is grace period but your data and calls stop working just a minute past your validity timeframe.

So my cordless phone which works fine on Airtel (Gigaset A450), does not work on Jio. Tried different cables etc. Don't get the ring tone, and while trying to reach the Jio number via call, says number is not available.

Whoever having problem with VoIP status showing red mark on router status page , landline not working , reset your router . Changing DNS settings stopping the VoIP landline service .

I also got landline service with GigaFiber few days ago but there are few issues/bugs and lags with this service.

(i) There is no old BSNL like dail tone. Only continuous bip like sound. This is not the big issue.

(ii) Main problem is that there is long delay/ lag (5 to 15 seconds) in out-going calls after dial the number.

(iii) Sometimes, there is also incoming call delay/ lag in landline when mobile calling is going but landline ringing is very delayed or sometimes no ringing at all on landline.

(iv) Landline ringing pattern and sound also bit changed and become very irritated.
First there is a single long ringing and then long pause and then again long ringing.
This issue was not with old BSNL copper landline service.

(v) Jio VoIP landline service not working after changing the default ISP DNS to other public DNS like Google or Cloudflare etc.

So do you also have same issues? Please answer to all questions step-by-step. @undercover
Yes. I am facing exactly the same issues you have mentioned.
Another major issue that I am facing is, whenever I call any other landline number from my Jio landline, the phone rings on the other person's side but I don't hear any ring tone on my side.
And when the other person picks the call, the call disconnects (beeping on both sides).
I am able to receive calls from landline numbers but the connection is not very clear. Most of the times, I hear my voice back.
The connection to other mobile numbers from Jio landline is much better.
Do you face this above issue? @SG_curiosity
