I have a spreadsheet in Google Sheets containing details of some 2400 SKUs. Out of 2400 SKUs, around 50% are duplicates due to a mistake committed by one of our staff. The only way to identify the duplicate items is via the unique barcodes which each SKU has. So how do I remove the duplicate SKUs based on the barcodes?.

You have barcode in cells? I wonder if there is a function that can retrieve value from barcode and put value in a cell. Seems unlikely.

Barcode in the sense plain numbers. For example: There is Product A having barcode number 1234. Then there is again Product A having barcode number 1234. I want to keep just one Product A and remove the second duplicate one.

the content of this article is basically a complete rip-off of similar articles i found online when i searched for a solution to his issue. lol.

in any case, the addon mentioned in the article seems to have an option where you can deduplicate rows based on the value of one cell in the row.

should basically work great as long as the values in cells are formatted like plain numbers.

this feature is not on my account yet...
