Well, once long ago when I had just got Sify, I faced a lot of "your IP is already in use" type of error messages, preventing me from connecting. And once I noticed the guy who had used my IP had left his connection logged in after he switched his comp off. this was back b4 the bbclient, so all u had to do was use the login URL and u wud get login details if u were already logged on. I thought I wud call the poor sap up and tell hime to log out. But then I saw that the name was of one of Sify's dudes and his phone no ws my CTO's telno! And his pack was some strange 128 kbps 3000 Rs something pack which was not even offered.Well, I dlded all night! 2 Linux CDs!!!Have any of you ever caused financial loss to Sify? Pls share ur deliteful stories here.

ya well whenever sify servers offer me high speeds i just suck it upaur vaise bhi if my network is up and their sam is working i make it a point to get the most out of my connection

i used to turn off the power to the switches being powered by my place at times when i was not using the net or go out of town.

and you were screwing other subscribers around and not sify ....

hmmm anti social element ^_^ 😛 waise that would inturn blow the CTO's mind, figurin out the problem 😉

Awww....thats selfishness

think about this. i was powering his switches coz no one else around my house was willing to do. and the power line he took out of my house could have been used to power anything. not exactly an ac but its like giving up a complete source of power to run quite many electrical appliances.i was paying for the power. i was being provided real crap services. people near my house called me to reset the power to the switch when fluctuations happened and the switch hanged somehow...what i did was no evil.

when it comes to broadband... self comes first.

yeah i remember feeling like that for sometime. i had to teach my mother to actually reset the power switch to that source coz i used to be out in the evenings and she had to pick the calls. if my dad had picked up one of those calls i would have to move to gurgaon 6 months earlier 😉

that would have been good. airtel is pretty good 😉

no only once i had that speed go haywire.....i had about 5mbps speed. I downloaded many movies.....all nicely encoded divx files. But they all turned out russian.......🙂

I also used to power off their hub but that only when there used to be packet loss and the CTO guy wont come to repair it and then after my complaint .....24 hours thereafter i wud swich off the power and the guy wud come running 🙂But now fed with all this he has his own power supply and 24 hr backup.....

# ping -s 1024 -f 10.13.213.1Well that would force ping the gateway with about 1024 bytes of data without interval :\
