Airtel Xstream Fiber 100 Mbps (Getting 300Mbps+)
Hello! I am using BSNL Broadband from 10 years. I am current using plan of BB 675 ULD also called 5 GB/day plan (Upto 10 Mbps till 5 GB/day, Upto 2 Mbps beyond) for which I pay around 800 rupees after taxes. Till last month I use to get 3-4 mbps speed during day and upto 6 mbps at night. But from last 3 weeks the DSL was getting on and off and the internet connectivity was keeping lost. So I made a complaint and they send line man to change the port last week. Since I one week I am getting such a horrible download speed of around 0.78 mbps but stable connection on my broadband. Now whenever I make complaint, they this is the best speed you can get. I am very angry at this kind of service and want to make a complaint to the apex. Please tell me the procedure to make complaint against this service. And what is wrong with my connection here?

Here you can see the speed: Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

Your line stats are poor. Register your complaint with bsnl

Already did complaint! They are asking me to buy a new connection. Otherwise such such poor speed.

How far away are you from the exchange? Your line appears to have degraded over time or there is some damage.
Check if FTTH is available in your area and migrate to that if possible.

@varkey The exchange is 2 km away. No, there is in fiber optics in my small town. The only option is this broadband or there is one bsnl wireless broadband they are offering me where I will get 250GB data at upto 15mbps for Rs. 499+tax and for an antena they will post after security deposit of 2950 rupees. They said it's called wireless broadband, both telephone and internet will work. This is not Wi-Max but wireless broadband as per the office. I am skeptical for this as there is no mentioning in bsnl website.

Yes, its called broadband over WiFi and it appears to be circle/state specific. Check your circle specific website and see if it's there.

Although not sure how the performance would be, there are few threads about it in this forum too I think.

Regarding DSL broadband, try complaining and see if they can switch you to a different better line/port on their side.

Still getting poor speed on broadband (1.1 mbps)
I requested for the new connection from 10 days and that with promo offer of 20 mbps till 10 GB/ day for 291 rupees.
They said give us couple of days as there is some issue in the server. Let's see. I will update here.

Hello! yesterday I get the new connection with promo offer of 20 mbps till 10 GB/ day for 291 rupees.

Now the telephone exchange is around 500m from my house. But still getting half speed (10 mbps) instead of 20 mbps as per the plan. What should I do now?

Yeah! Attainable rate is now coming 23000 this means it can get speed to 20 mbps for sure. SNR upstream is 8 dB and downstream is 14dB. I will ask the JTO to up my line rate to 20 mbps as per the plan.
As per lineman he said the exchange has full of connection and you will get this much because of load.

I contacted the JTO and he said said you're having copper line and you can not get beyond 16 mbps in copper. Is that so??

I requested for the profile reset and they worsen my attainable rate and speed as you can see getting 9.5 mbps download and 10.8 mbps attainable rate. Went to complaint and he said it's impossible to get even the speed over 8 mbps as these machines are old and are not compatible for that much high speed.

What is the upload limit for my 20 mbps download @291 plan?
1mbps is the upload they provide with 20mbps profile, they have a set of profiles,as i saw in the system while getting my line profile updated to 20mbps,the line profiles are 12,16,20,24mbps and all i think come with 1mbps ul profile. While getting my dl profile updated,i had asked jto to change my ul rate to 1mbps,he denied and said he cannot change ul speeds and u will continue to get ul speed of 638kbps that was set earlier however i think he didnt knew that the 20mbps profile also changes ul speed to 1mbps
