ended up ordering a LG model. let's see how many years it would last. apparently, i have gone through three models through the life of this thread lol.

update:

So… I ended up purchasing LG FHT1208SWL. Here is what I think about it after using it for 2-3 days.

The door is dark, so it is basically impossible to see what’s happening inside. I guess it’s a décor thing. But for me it’s kind of annoying.

LG installation guy was an idiot. Had no idea where fabric softener was to be added. Mostly bluffed around other questions I asked. At least he did not try to sell 3000-4000 worth of accessories that IFB guys do.

Took me like 10 tries to connect the washing machine to the LG Smart ThinQ app. It’s not really a good experience. App is pretty slow at catching up with the happenings on the machine. You cannot start a washing cycle unless you enable remote start on the machine itself every single time. There is not much flexibility. You can download custom wash programs but only one can be saved on the machine at any given time. Default program is RINSE AND DRY which gets replaced with any downloaded program. Insane. I don’t think you can manually start a cycle for just rinsing and drying. You need this preset program!

Machine does vibrate a lot. Even moved during a heavy wash cycle by a few inches. No idea how to stop this from happening. Super annoying.

so... has anyone found a good way to stop front load machines from moving around during wash cycle? i imagine that the core issue is slanted floor in the bathroom where it is placed. i plan to get a level checker tomorrow and see if balancing it would help. but i doubt it alone would solve the problem. online resources indicate placing non slip rubber bottoms under the washing machine... reviews of such products available on Amazon do not look very good. this is kind of annoying as i have to end up using 400 rpm for spin cycle which is fine for summer season but would not be very helpful in winters.

my top load machine used to vibrate but I placed it on stand with castor wheels and locked the wheels in place and it stopped vibrating. maybe try that?

the FAQ on Amazon page also mentions a guy who has same vibrating problem as you so I think the model is just built like that. maybe try redistributing the load when using?

If it vibrates a lot and you try to hold the machine in place, you'll risk damaging the drum
