I'm currently looking for a secondary broadband connection in Shaheen Bagh Locality in New Delhi's Jamia Nagar area, and I will post my experience here. Also, I would love to recieve feedback from other people who live around this area or are in the know how of things.

Following are not available in our area:
1. Airtel (Only available upto New Friends Colony)
2. Spectra
3. ACT Broadband
4. Jio

MTNL and other local ISPs are dominant in our area. With MTNL being the most reliable, but MTNL Fiber is only available upto Abul Fazal Enclave part 1, and not part 2, the reasons for which are known to me, as I have talked to MTNL officials in person.

Excitel is now available in our area for some time now, I wonder if they are any good? Does anyone know?

Consider having Primary Connection which is more stable and Excitel only for the download/uploading purpose.

Setup a Load Balancer too so whenever your primary connection is down, it will shift automatically to the Backup without needing t do anything by yourself manually.

You can read about my experience with Excitel here: Excitel Broadband Review: Worst Internet Service Provider (With Screenshots) | Excitel Broadband

Don't pay excitel for multiple months, You're welcome!

I'm going to try it for one month only for now. The infrastructure seems fine in our area. Lets see how is the LCO.

I just checked that it is possible to use my modem D-Link 2750U (HW: A1, Firmware: 1.01 (2017)) for both of the connections, without having to buy a new modem. This was not possible before it seems, and people were using Middle East firmware (which was risky, and also voids your warranty).

@ajgamer: Which area are you from? I seem to can't find that in your posts. I know things can get real nasty with some private players, and that is the only reason I have stuck with MTNL for so long. I know about the Tikona's Tikona Drama ! (all the threat calls and stuff).

I got myself a excitel connection today. The usual stuff was there (which is there for most Private Players) like trying to sell Modem or long term payment, I'm taking none. I have had a internet connection when the speed was 56 kbps only on MTNL, and I had to use a dial-up connection. The word 'Broadband' nearly didn't exist back then. Ah! Those were the days of true internet misery.

Well Day 1 was okay. The speedtest.com from Ookla is giving me a 'Latency Error', and is the only exception. Different tests are giving me different speeds, MTNL one is giving me inconsistent results as well. Which means that the speed is inconsistent (I tested during peak hours of evening). Highest was around 45-48, and lowest was 2.xx for US server.
It is bad, but not that bad for me to give up just yet.

Good News is that I didn't need to buy a new router, and my current modem worked. Even the technician was surprized, I don't blame them for their ignorance.

@ajgamer: That is actually evading the question actually. I would have to ignore your advice, if you refuse to share your area.

Just heard, that spectra was there in our area, but was discontinued, and it was very good until it lasted.

Haha. You have a bad luck mate. A lot of people are biased towards Excitel just because they have Gimmick Unlimited FUP but you can have as much FUP you want from any other ISP if you know the right way to do it (including Airtel).

So, I really keep Excitel as the least choice. If Spectra is there, Spectra would have been your go to ISP.

And to be honest, Reality Check: If you are working and hardly have time for yourself. What is the use of unlimited FUP? Work > Downloading from Torrent.
