ONT Suggestion - Current Device EchoLife:HG850a

Bro went to BSNL office today, they behaved really bad. You are ordering but who is gonna configure it? Peoples have bought their own devices earlier but nothing worked and they are lying here and there. They have 2 different machines. I asked who can help, he said try buying from a local shop who take guarantee that it's gonna work (with configuration).

All in all, they were not ready to help. Buying can reduce monthly bill for the long run. Can someone please help regarding the same.

Configuring it is not a big deal, however getting BSNL to reset the Mac binding can be a bit challenging depending on your area and LCO etc.

@varkey I’m interested in the HG850a but don’t know how do I check the compatibility with BSNL’s Tejas 1400N ONT.

I would rather trust a brand like Huawei instead of trusting Syrotech / Optilink / Netlink etc.

I've mentioned it earlier, it's probably easier to get a basic ONT compatible with the OLT, and have it in full bridge mode and use your own proper router. Looking for the best all in one device may not be feasible always.

Anyway to answer your question, you'd need to actually test whether it will work, I don't think there is a way out of that.

Oh! Okay, I thought there was a way in which you can check the chipset etc..
