Hi,

I am very new to this Airtel.I am in 256UL plan. For the first month i got 512 kbps speeds and next monh 256 only. After reading much through net, i decided to change some setting in the modem, and went through the modem site for disabling Firewall for about 3 steps and rolled back with out saving/rebooting.

Prior to this i was able to browse every site and P2P(Utorrrent, Bitcomet) worked fine. After this, Net totally hanged up and i called customer care and he said some modifications , net worked but i am not able to Browse Yahoomail,Yahoo messenge,Gtalk,Gmail and other mails.🙁
I am able to browse all other sites... i am able to access Meebo...

Please help me for this...

By the way my speed is back to 512....:thumbsup:

And mean while i would like to share a recent conversation between me and the CC.
I told that i am not able to cross the speed of 24kbps D/L.
CC people said Go to run-->CMD--->netstat -All ( Or some command i really dont remember)

When i did that i found that there are about 50 active connections.
He said that they are all viruses and we can not help.
The next day i googled it out and found that it is command used to find the active connections.....

Welcome to Broadbandforum.in
see this link and try the MTU change as suggested there.

Para two :
If your modem is Beetel220BxAdsl2+modem download the user manual.

see some screen shots I have given.
Open TinyPic - Share the Experience!™. In search type Beetel.

Para three:
C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx> tracert www.broadbandforum.co

Tracing route to www.broadbandforum.co [210.193.49.171]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

Thanks a lot guys for the replies.... Airtel guy fixed the prob for me but the Speed is back to 220Kbps :-(

@thenvk At least you can tell what "Airtel" fixed. Because the suggestions given here were not useful/were not tried. Specially setting the MTU part to access the web sites. No MTU settings option seen in Beetel220BX1. Depending on feedback only we can fix a correct solution to any problem. Just now My beetel 220BX1 failed, and after resetting the modem,( when the default gateway was shown as 169.254.135.106 (privateLAN address)and ( it has got automatic client TR 089 programming) i just had to re-enter my ID and password to get going. Luckily I have another modem/ and (Dataone ) to confirm , where the fault is.

My Modem is 220BXI ADSL2+. Yesterday i entered in to the modem page and tried to disable the Firewall, finally decided not to do.

I told Him what i did and he configured my connection once again, it worked.He said that problem was occurred during the Reboot, changes were not updated.

To be frank, as i am new to this Modem settings and other stuff, i really dint understand much from your reply...
I did not try your suggestion as things started working for me.

I guess a sticky thread explaining these stuff will help newbies..

one small question... What is the difference between
http://192.168.1.1
and http://192.168.1.1/main.html as i can see different menus in both of them....

@thenvk
Airtel Broadband North---------Modem Drivers
Please download the user manual. for Beetel 220Bx Advanced options.
Many other links are missing here.

The second is for Advanced options, to check your connection/ fault finding PF etc.
As this modem has automatic feature for reconnection, you may not need to change any settings.. , There is nothing to change in the modem at present.
If you find the need for any change, please post here the problem. . Presume you have one computer( desktop or laptop) only.

@essbebe

As i mentioned before, first i used to get 512 speed instead of 256. recently it got back to 256 speed. So after reading here i went to modem settings and applied factory defaults... The speed is back to 512, but yahoo and gmail are not accesible.

Is there any way that i can get back that speed......?

@thenvk
Appears you are a beginner in computers.
So go step by step and don't tweak the computer or modem by "trial and error" method.. Or copy all modem settings in a good old notebook for reference/backup.
Para two : The speed is back to 512, but yahoo and gmail are not accesible.
First check your speed at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test mumbai server.
Then download this program.
connectionbooster from .:: TrackZapper ::. Shredder - SystemCleanser - Anti Spam Filter - PopUP Killer - Spyware-Adware Remover - Connection Booster - Personal Firewall -Privacy Guard - Phishing Zapper
select only default values.
Check again speed at mumbai server.
I expect YM Gmail to be restored. If not, then you have to download DrTCP program and lower the MTU only. rest of the settings do not change.
Give feedback.

and now yahoo and gmail not working,.
I would have said "after trying TZ connection Booster ALSO ...... etc""" !!!
1.You could have reported the MTU/Rwin selected by the TZ connection booster program.
2. Try this program and CHANGE ONLY MTU to 1478 ( windows default 1500)
DrTCP windows tcp tuning and tweaking - dslreports.com
DrTCP description
