Every day, I find my net getting a boost at around 9pm and everyday I see it take a dive at around 10am in the morning. Today I found the exact sweet spot when Sify opened the taps of bandwidth for me... From 2.5KBps to 7.7KBps...

It happened around 9:10PM around the time the 128kbps night only packages starts. So, common sesne suggests that their software is flawed which interfares in my package to work as per the promised speeds only when the taps are opened for the night users.

And ofcourse this is in addition to the special pain in the @$$ feature which logs me out every 2-3 hours. And I don't get replies on my mails sent to 10 known customer care people. 1 bounces...

Y'know ... these are the only two speeds I have seen sify work at - ~2.5 and ~7 ...
 
if i could live without internet for 5 hrs in a day, i had taken the night only pack and sleep during the day. 😛 but i need my net. even if it works at 2KBps. 😡
 
1. the speed is labelled 48kbps+ not max 48kbps.
2. i don't even touch 4KBps during the day time for 5 seconds.

I can't think of a situation that there are people on my local network who turn on downloading stuff on a daily bases at 10am. Keep downloading constantly till 9pm in the evening. And then just like that shutdown all of their computers together, as a result of which my net automagically gets better at around 9-9:10 pm. The image above shows exactly what is happening here ever since they started the new 128kbps night package and launched the broadband client. 🙄

Well, I wrote a mail related to this matter. Just to inform you guys, last 3 mails of mine to the customer support went unanswered...

This must be my nth mail to you complaining about lack of speeds during the daytime. And the fact remains that it s*cks. Last month I was on 32kbps pack and you kept saying speeds of 2-3 KBps were ok for that pack. This month I am on 48kbps and I am still getting 2-3 KBps during the daytime. This makes no sense. I would love to know what I got upgrading from a 32kbps pack to 48kbps pack.

Then you guys talk about 75megs limit. I do not see it on the product pages, so why should I accept it. It amounts to cheating that you do not mention something as important as the 75megs limit on the pages, which describe the package features. Also, even if you drop speeds after a certain amount of data transfer has taken place, why do not I see even a minor improvement after upgrading to 48kbps from 32kbps. Another thing that makes little sense.

On my forum, I met people who get 7-8KBps during the daytime in spite of the fact that they keep downloading throughout the day. Then you claim that my line might be choked. If my line is choked, why don’t you do something about it? It is a problem I am facing even since you debuted your new Sify broadband client, which continues to log me out every 3-4 hours.

Then you suggest that I should get a better speed package. Please tell me what other package you have that gives me unlimited data transfer and time period to stay online? I have the best you have in this category, which is 48kbps+. Why not make 64kbps+ pack unlimited time-period enabled and I would be happy to take it.

Please explain what am I supposed to do? You do not give me promised speeds. You do not reply to my mails. You do not have a better package that suits my requirement. How am I supposed to be happy using Sify Broadband?

Is there any other 48+ kpbs user , here :sI think another 48+ kpbs user can confirm this, if the same is happening with him also.
 


If Fred is also using the same pack, then there must be a flaw in their software.and I think, Instead of requesting , better change ur pack to 32 kpbs+I am using a night Pack , and my download speeds hover at 12 kbps to 15 kbps
 
I think its not just a question of the people downloading large qty's, but it depends on those using dedicated connections. Regardless of how much they r using, the fixed amount may be allocated to them when they r logged in. Hmm ... ask if anyone uses 256Kbps in your neighborhood ...
 
i am alloted 48kbps but am not getting it. i have sent repeated mails to sify customer support with enough proof. they don't reply to them. i don't even have a f**king CTO. what else am i supposed to do?
 
well sushubh u have done some much negative publicity for sify online....so perhaps they have decreased sppeds 4 u. Do one thing.....change ur IP...then ur MAC address (if possible) then create a new user id .......may be it might just work.....I mean to say change ur identity totally

dude, do u think it would do them any good by troubling me any more? they will just get me more inspiration to tell the truth about them more aggresively! i will find an alternative in the coming months, but the blog would remain and the forum will remain. in the long term, troubling me will bite them.
