They are once again on that discount removing spree. They removed the discount, upon mailing them, they gave discount for current bill only.
Mailed them again this time for disconnection stating that i am a decade old customer, the CC excutive was pleading to not disconnect but said cannot offer anything except a lower plan and ultimately accepted the request for disconnection. Therafter got a callback and they offered discount on the next bill as a temporary measure saying that Airtel might resume discounts in the future.

I dont know how many peeople got this , but on my 4G prepaid too , I got a 50 Rupees discount(not Payments bank thing)on the app directly for all the plans above 200. That also has been removed from last 2 months I guess.

@shashankb I think that coupon is applicable on specific recharge, atleast it used to be when i recharged my number last year .
Yes, thats what i have been told. On removal of discount, I asked for disconnection of my 10 year old connection, they accepted the request then i got a call back wherein they said that all they can offer is discount on the current bill and an assurance that discount will be given in future if and when the company decides to offer discounts again.
