Hi all,

Apologies if this is a repeat topic, but patience is just running out.

Surprisingly, MTNL Mumbai offers the unlimited broadband plan @ 2 Mbps for Rs. 20000 per month.

See Tariff plan # 15 at:

MTNL Broadband Internet Services Tariff Plans

Comparatively, MTNL Delhi offers 256 Kbps speed unlimited downloads, for Rs. 799 per month.

Broadband

Why this discrimination and how long do we wait for lower tariffs?

Hmm...2 Mbps U/L connection in Delhi will also cost about 18k..and yeah!!! u r right..they r not providing any 256kbps U/L in Mumbai..anyways u always have the option to go for the Night Unlimited one for 849 bucks🙂

I am already on the NU plan, but hate to be awake for rebooting my modem after 12 AM. Even though some users have reported automatic reboot, I dont trust these PSU companies. They are however very smart to reboot the modem automatically at 8 AM morning though, since it moves into the pay zone.Talk about their marketing tag... "MTNL hai toh sahi hai"..should be "MTNL hai toh nuksaan hai"

U can try some Auto reboot script..i dunno how far it works coz i never tried it..anyways rebooting the modem at night and morning is real pain in the as*

Yeah... i have been using the automatic reboot script since the last 2 years and never have I been wrongly charged by MTNL! That way MTNL is reliable... Its only when you do some foolishness from your end... they end up screwing up your bills!!!

Ig you use IDM for downlaoding then it also has an option to shut down the machine automatically at a particular time. I have set it to shut down at 7.45 in the morning and it works fine.:yahoo:.You can use that too

Thats if you are using PPPOE. For bridged mode, even shutting down is enough!

How does your download keep working if you shut down the machine?...even if your modem is on the amount of data transfer is very very neglible....:yahoo::thumbsup:

^ though there wont be any downloads after shutting down, data which was earlier downloaded during the night would be counted since the modem was not reset at 8.

Just shut down the machine and the modem of course at 7:45 AM. Problem solved.
