Let me put it this way ... I have installed a Creative Webcamera and Microphone and the Yahoo Messenger Software. With this setup and my MTNL-ADSL2+ broadband I can engage in audio-video chats.

he is talking abt the number of megs consumed per hour. i believe it would be in the range of 40-50 megs

Sorry, something went wrong and I pressed the wrong keyboard buttons and my incomplete message went thru. So with my setup, I have engaged in almost two hours of audio-video chats and been billed only about 10 MB for the download, the 15 MB of upload is free. This is almost free, so do not worry about cost. Best wishes.

Why not host ur sites......MTNL upload is free......get hold of 512 kbps or 1 mbps connection and u can host ur sites for cheap...or sell the hosting to manage money for ur download part......i think there are some tools which help u with dynamic ip prom???

That is incredible 😱 I regularly video conference with my relatives abroad on msn messenger which consumes abt 120-140 kbps on the video chat. Full screen mode consumes abt 200-210 Kbps. Just audio on msn consumes abt 32-45 kbps.

In order to save bandwidth during day time i use microsoft portrait (the lowest bandwidth consuming voip software ever) and that still consumers abt 16-18 kbps which translates to abt 8 MB per hr one way.

How can u video chat 2 hrs with only 10 MB usage that also on yahoo messenger?

The upload speed is limited to a maximum of 256 kbps, on any connection.

On the same lines, can anybody tell me a good site / program for audio / video chat where I can chat and meet with new people.
