I am thinking to get Xiaomi mi box S for my family to get used to IPTV and youtube. There are few demos on youtube about Jio's own android box and it will sync with jio IO devices. I belong to small city(which is also a district) so Jio Fiber have long way to go for me to get it's fiber connection here and they will only sell jio setop box with jio fiber connection. Will it be worth to wait or should I just buy xiaomi one?
Plus I already have subscription of Hotstar,Zee5 and Netflix.

First fiber should launch and then iptv. even if fiber launches, you live in small city so fiber will take time to come. better get an mi box and be done with it. you can also sell the mi box 1 year down the line if fiber comes to your place

Have been using an andorid box for more than 2 years. Disconnected Cable TV connection at the same time. I use Jio TV, Airtel TV, Vodafone Play for Live TV + netflix + youtube + many other live streaming apps.

I do not have fiber but ethernet @30Mbps. I have 2 android boxes + mobiles, laptops & Desktop working simultaneously. So fiber is not a must.

There are so many Android boxes on AliExpress/ Gearbest etc. Anyone would do unless you want to go for 4K streaming.

I was in a similar confusion, but finally got Fire TV stick for the time being and using Jio TV+prime video+netflix+Jio cinema etc.
I have BSNL FTTH 50 mbps, and use it as an alternate for Tata Sky. Infact we are thinking not to recharge tata sky anymore.

I contacted Jio employee in my area they told me it will take a few months to get fiber at my home and even when fiber comes, the TV services will come with it initially is not a guarantee. For the time being get it, and sell it later on OLX etc. as suggested by other members.

Does JioTV TV version support live TV when using non Jio connection? I tried and no videos load, perhaps I did something wrong. A pointer would be helpful. Also could you please point me to the version of Airtel TV app which works for live TV?

I have a FireTV Stick 4k.

It works with any other internet. Probably try reinstalling again. Or are you using the correct version?

No it does not work, I have sideloaded JioTV old app for Android TV on my fire stick. But then the default username and password stopped working so I had to type my username and password each time. Then I found a modded Jio TV app in which I was able to make my own username and password default. And it works fine on non jio connection because it is Android TV version and not mobile version.

I am still not able to find how to install Airtel TV on my fire stick. We can use casting feature but the screen turns black, there is a workaround for that but it requires the phone to be engaged all the time.

Thanks @Tarang Taneja, looks like I gave up too soon. I just now edited the password to mine and live TV works on my FireTV stick. I had to force terminate the app and launch it again once or twice before it started working. Some channels take a bit longer to load though.

But otherwise works pretty alright.

@varkey I have that problem too, and also star network channels don't work. In the mobile app they redirect you to the Hotstar app, but it gets stuck in fire tv.

If you don't want the hassle to type your password again and again, as it does not have the option to remember then you can use the video in my previous post to make it default.

@varkey I guess your Jio Tv issue is resolved. I am also using a modded apk or edited with apk editor for version number etc.... but did it long time ago....

I am using(sideloaded) regular mobile Airtel TV app on my android box. The issue with this is that you will get only sound without picture. To resolve this you have to go to display setting of your android box. and select "original" orientation instead of "force land".

JioTV (Android TV) 1.0.4 not working ? black screen on all channels.
Jio also Removed 4000 and 8000 bitrate quality links. i think they are closer to launching JioHomeTV.
