Excitel Broadband providing static IP for 1000 rupees per year?

regarding that... a friend of mine recently got cpplus cctv cameras installed at his place and he is able to access them on his phone through excitel. i actually pay for airtel static ip just for cctv. haven't tried using excitel on it and seeing if ezviz can access the cameras without static ip ? i have hikvision and even the web based ui no longer works because of removal of plugin support.
Even I am using hikvision as of now I can access the cams on the hikconnect app provided by hikvision. You can try using it. The only problem is all the video feed will be relayed through a proxy server, which allows me to view the video feed outside my network.

so it handles that by itself? the proxying?

i mean it would save 118 bucks per month ? that i am paying for the static ip on airtel. i don't really access cctv on the move much as they are installed just for the sake of it. it is kind of annoying to barely have .5mbps on airtel adsl upload which means that performance is poor on the move.

Yup, even I was surprised how easy it was no port forwarding or anything required. You just need to link your DVR to your hikvision account by scanning a QR code in the app and all is done. You can then access your camera's on any other network using the app.

Feel free to ping me if any problems occur would be happy to help.

sorry for this offtopic comment but posting in here because you all are active here.

Can you guys please go onto twitch.tv and try to watch any stream.

for the past few days its buffering like crazy for me. twitch doesnt even utilize 5Mbps of bandwidth . it stays around 500Kbps - 1Mbps resulting in buffering and video quality to 160p.

i created a ticket just now but still want to know whether i am the only one facing this or not

Just tried multiple streams on twitch, I can view 1080p without any problem.

BHAI 118 rupees!!! PATA HAI KITNE PARLE-G KAREED SAKTA HAI TU!!!?? MAZE SE CHAI BISCOOT KHA SAKTA HAI!!!!!!!

and you must be in gurgoan .5mb adsl... lol

anyway is there quick howto guide for using zerotier for pi?

i am intentionally not switching to airtel v-fiber. if i do, i think upload speed increases to 5mbps or 10mbps. also do remember. that this is a backup connection. only used when excitel goes down. and my overall airtel bill is around 500 bucks.

v-fiber isnt successful enough atleast in sector 49.

but still paying 500 for .5mbps sounds not good for me where i pay 820 for 50mbps upload /download.

btw are you using PoE cams?

Yeah there is one ,
Check this Accessing your Raspberry Pi securely from the Internet using ZeroTier

Pretty simple like any rpi package.
Also since u have a pi, u can make it one step ahead and make a bridge network if u want other non zerotier devices on it's network. Google it, and u can find good walk through or Reddit.

Zerotier can help resolve requirement with Cameras (or other resources) in Internal network that need to be accessed from outside world.
