When I went to nearby ICICI bank for Aadhar update ... they said... come back after 1 month to take token... yes this is just for token only. And then I dont know when they will call for actual update.

I said its for my mom who is senior citizen and also account holder.. .even then they said come for token.

SVK bank guys said -- I have to collect token in morning sharp at 9AM and come in afternoon. Since there are limited tokens I have to reach sharp at 9AM otherwise tokens will exhaust. So effectively it means I have to go there twice and also time it correctly.

Then I went to postoffice .. they gave me token immediately but token was due after 1 month.

So finally waited for 4 weeks and our turn came!! There were only 2 people. My mother and someone else.

And we stil had to wait 30 minutes after reaching!!!

Because post office guy decided to do everything after we reached there instead of keeping it ready.

Turn on the PC
Hang the longest USB cable (almost 10m) that I have ever seen, outside postoffice.
Attach some internet dongle to it
Attach other end of cable to back of PC.
Hang HUGE BIG PLAIN WHITE POSTER to the wall of postoffice. (this itself took him 10mins because it wasnt hanging .. so he had to use tapes)
People were supposed to stand infront of this completely white poster for photograph.
Then start internet
Authenticate himself to aadhar system
Check everything.
Call first guy.
That took him another 5-7 minutes.
And then eventually our turn came.

Clearly it was very easy!!!

i have to apply for myself. looking for a way to get it down without the token system. planning to contact the local politician's office.

Post office near me was a very small post office. 200 sq. ft. place and only 2 guys working.

The guy told me that if I do not want to wait .. i should go to larger post office about 2km away.

So may be if you have bigger post office nearby - you can give it a try.

it is quite far away from my place. the main post office of gurgaon. i do have like 15 banks operating in my local market. just need to find one branch which is operating aadhaar center. can take a token and wait for six months if required.

It also shows which branch has higher activity. So you can go to place where activity is low. Hoping that your turn will come faster.

But on the other hand low activity can also mean that less staff.

Also look for permanent centers only.
