Hi, There are confusing posts elsewhere in other forums that splitter is not needed if you want to connect to computer alone to get the best data force signal from dslam. In other theory, it is said that splitter is to be used from the main line, and it gives the correct data force , or in otherwords, dsl signal to the modem and reduces the noise to the telephone by its inner connection settings in the splitter.
Dlo the speed have any influence on these two connections.
Now , i have the connection like this
mainline-rosette single way-line jack cntinue-splitter ->phone -----telephone
------------------------------------------------------------------ L> modem rj11 jack--computer.
My query is can i connect like this --main lilne -rosette single way box---no splitter -direct to modem rj11jack?
Will i get more speed if i connect like the 2nd option. experts

Connect the adsl model directly to the main line if you don't use a telephone.

Hi, aatulf,
My concern is would it improve the snr and thereby the speed?
I use the telephone
I have typed modem rj11jack --computer after the splitter by giving required space, but on posting it goes to the next line , swallowing the spaces.

you need to have splitter if you use the telephone otherwise your internet disconnects when your phone rings
it is that easy

Only slightly. Two less connections.

Since you don't use the telephone, try connecting the splitter & telephone and leave the receiver off the hook. Should Improve SNR and overall stability.

Your trick did not work. The same snr.
If my snr does not improve, i cannot possibly expect increase in speed.
How snr fluctuates to such low as 6 is need to be probed, i think so.

Hi, G.dmt does nto give speed even near 8 mbps. Do you mean to say that option of adsl is incorrect?Ok , will check, g.dmt but it would not go beyond 6 mbps i Think.

Hi, I tried only g.dmt, it does show 0 statistics in adsl reading
i enabled g.dmt,adsl2 and adsl2+ which gives me the 10 mbps speed
But look at the stat:
Downstream Upstream
Hlin Scale 3325 0
Loop Attenuation(dB) 30.9 17.7
Signal Attenuation(dB) 30.9 18.9
SNR Margin(dB) 6.4 6.4
Attainable Rate(Kbps) 10288 1136
Output Power(dBm) 20.3 12.0
Adsl Tone List
Up Stream 621 kbps
Down Stream 9019 kbps
Attenuation Down Stream 30
Attenuation Up Stream 17
SNR Margin Down Stream 6.7
SNR Margin Up Stream 18.7
do you see the snr of upload and download speed in adsl tone list shows the same.
The same thing shown differently in adsl driver dwnload snr 6.7 and upload snr 18.7 at the smae time
I could understand the difference in attainable speed shown above, and the actual below .
But snr of DL/UL remains the same.
Any idea
