This DSL Wire ( DP Box to DSL Splitter) was installed before 15 years approximately.
I think its outdated DSL Wire, not fit for 20 MBPS Speed. Some Bsnl person suggests me to replace the wire to a new wire for better SNR Margin.
Airtel is using entirely different DSL Wires.

Does Bsnl use the same kind of wire in 2018?

Do i need to replace my DSL Wire ( DP Box to DSL Splitter )? Please suggest me

They supply new wires nowadays, looks more like airtel dsl wires. It’s an aluminium core inside. Yu can try changing the same.
 
The suggested wire , they call is drop wire, like tv cable wire, having two wires securely placed inside as krish has pointed out. It does not expose the wires as in the case of copper wire flat at that
 
I have new type of wires installed by bsnl.max speed is 10mbps only.i am in 99 rupees plan.no use of installing wires they need to increase the line rate.in arakkonam area they say wires not available and asking customer to buy wires.??

My current line rate is set to 10 MBPS because of low SNR Margin, If they replace the my old wire, hope i can get better SNR Margin so that i request my Bsnl AE to set the Line Rate for 20 MBPS.

Hi, Ashraf, i do not understand. If your plan shows 20 mbps, then the possible maximum speed will be provided in the same line that you have now.
You could change port if you think that you get not the speed , but the speed is all controlled at the servers that we all use. You could reguest port change, but i doubt that AE can set the line rate for 20 mbps. Please experts share your views. I will be learning

@Ashraf is referring to the physical limitations (noise etc) of the existing cabling preventing him from achieving higher speeds. If the cabling is replaced it might be possible to get a better and stable sync with the BSNL DSLAM.

Usually to improve stability, the rate at which the modem syncs is throttled or reduced, with better cabling that can be removed and the user might be able to get the plan's actual speed.

Most of the time with BSNL, even though say the plan gives speeds up to 20 Mbps, due to distance from the exchange, poor cable quality, the user would not be able to even get 5 Mbps.

Currently, i'm getting 10 MBPS with No Issue, the reason they are not updating the Line Rate to 20 MBPS is that of low SNR Margin.

I'm 1.3 Kilo Meter away from my Bsnl Exchange. Hope i can get 20 MBPS Speed after replacement of new wire.
 
Good that you are able to get 10 Mbps, my house is almost 4-5 km from the exchange and I think the max attainable rate I have seen is 2-3 Mbps, and the cabling is also super bad.

I have applied for FTTH, have to wait and see how it goes. Right now using Jio 4G which gives around 20 Mbps, so it isn't really bad.
 
My line rate 12485 kbps.so i am getting 10mbps.if u want to get 20mbps then u need to ask exchange people to set line rate to 22000kbps.

My current SNR Margin is only 6 to 8 ( it fluctuates ), with this Low SNR Margin i can't request to increase the Line Rate.
If they increase Line rate now, the SNR Margin will decrease below 6, then i'll have to face very frequent disconnections.

so i'll request my AE for 20 MBPS speed only after getting a decent SNR Margin.
 
Hi, Varkey, what is jio 4g/ Has bsnl introduce any such plan in bsnl. please. Is it a new connection plan? Here bsnl only gives 3g only
