Carrier Aggregation on Airtel 4G LTE

In TN, I experienced limited 4G+ too. Only a few towers provide 4G+ these days when I travel. Not sure what criteria Airtel has to enable CA. Distance from the tower is certainly not an issue. I live and travel literally next to Airtel towers almost every week.

@pothi Airtel in Chennai and RoTN has been swapped from Huawei to Ericsson so no 4G+ anywhere even B40 CA works rarely 1/100 sites but in Chennai B40 alone is still Huawei so B40 CA works normally in Chennai

Airtel 4g+ has left the state of Kerala. I don't know why.
4g+ available in Kerala limited to postpaid users. Today I found out my friend has airtel postpaid he get 4g+ most of the time while I get 4g only in my prepaid connection

I am also on Airtel Postpaid plan. I don't see 4G+ at home. If I travel few Km away, I see 4G+ (2CA 20+10) for Airtel. However internet does not work or is very slow with 4G+ 🙄🤔
At home, yesterday morning I saw 50 Mbps speed with non-CA 4G on Airtel.

Ca has nothing to with prepaid and postpaid and the low speed in ca is probably due to wrong sector aggregating far away bands from different towers

I hope you meant the CA speed. In that case, I agree that the speed varies depending on the network bands from different towers. I experienced slower speeds on CA too.

Or did you mean to say that an operator can not restrict CA based on postpaid or prepaid?

From what I heard, an operator can control CA based on various factors such as type of device.

Has Airtel limited uploads to <10Mbps? I can get downloads around 90 Mbps. On a related note, at the same location Jio is giving me around 85 Mbps down and 25 Mbps up.

I get max upload upto 1 Mbps. That too if signal strength is -75 to -80db. Else around 0.5 Mbps.
Would mention that I have intra band CA instead of interband.

Is it Band 40? Then it might not go more than 10 mbps. In Band 3 I am getting around 20-25 mbps upload during daytimes and downloads are around 70 mbps without CA.
I guess they have capped upload to 30 mbps in band 3 and band 1 because i have never seen them going above the 30 mbps threshold.

SourceSpeedtest done on Band 3 without CA
