Here in Jharkhand airtel has 30mhz spectrum of B40.i have seen b40 20mhz and b40 10mhz working individually.it can easily do b40 20mhz+b40 10mhz CA here.i think only jio is properly utilising its spectrum.Almost every state it provides 5+3,5+40,3+40,40+40,5+3+40,3+40+40 CA combinations.Even though it has less spectrum than airtel and VIL

Airtel does Band 40+ Band 40 and Band 40+ Band 3 here in Kolkata. VIL has the largest amount of spectrum here but they don’t utilise it properly. Jio does Band 40 + Band 40, Band 3 + Band 5, Band 40 + Band 3 and 3CA across all the bands. Yet they have the slowest speeds.
Yes Jio has pan India CA in all band combinations and pan India 4x4 MIMO in band 3,40. In that aspects they are well situated. Insufficient spectrum is the only thing holding them back.
I don't know what is holding back Airtel in deploying 4x4 MIMO it will double the capacity.

Exactly. Also, they need to up their coverage within metro cities. You’re better off with Airtel or even Vodafone for overall coverage, even deep inside buildings where Jio fails. LTE wise, Jio has the best coverage followed closely by Airtel. Vodafone is plain weird - some places have terrific coverage while it’s abysmal elsewhere.

Yes in kolkata 40+40,3+40 works.but still they are not using 3+40+40CA in kolkata which they use in chennai.And in kolkata i did not get any CA on VIL despite of large spectrum.But in jio i got 40 mhz bw in kolkata with 3CA 3+40+40 although speeds were just around 27Mbps.

Tbh, Airtel/ Jio is the way to go in Kolkata, if one wants decent data speeds and coverage. For now, at least.

Assuming VIL has around 2 lakh cell sites through out india all those sites needs some form of upgradation in terms of new lte band addition (band 41), CA, MIMO, VOLTE. They are in this much pathetic condition right now. Many towers are still in 2G/3G.
If we need band 41 or a specific band throughout India we need the supporting hardwares in all sites in which VIL is lagging behind. Why i am saying is this they were sleeping for the past many years. Even they have surplus amount of spectrum they don't support in their existing towers it needs some modifications.
Even Airtel some what managed to get a stable 4G network. Airtel has the capacity to operate in 4 LTE bands simultaneously now.

I read somewhere that VIL won't be deploying band 41 outside of cities 😑 Unless they do something about those coverage holes, they won't be getting higher revenue.
