Hello, I have did multiple tests with multiple Speedtest.net hosts around myself (within 10 kms) which includes ACT, Excitel, Airtel, Vodafone, Den and many multiple other Local ISPs.

Some shows my full speed of 45-50 mbps (specially Hathway's itself) but some shows 2 mbps only (Airtel and many other ISPs).

What could be the problem?

I am seeing a lot of issues with Website Loading and YouTube.

Thanks.

Never speedtest on isp's server, they are peered.
Maybe due to congesion on sunday you are getting poor speed?

Hathway does several things-
*Peer speedtest servers, even foreign.
*Limit external speed to something like 10mbps or random.
*Cache downloads.
*Do cache downloads based on filename. If your filename has ubuntu ISO name and size, they would get the local version at full speed. I tried DLing a ubuntu ISO from an obscure server and it was giving me full speed, I don't think they did checksum or have that site in their DL cache. This was the most worrying for me as it violates privacy.
Needless to say I disconnected Hathway. They're still offering me '150mbps unlimited' for 550/- per month. I suspect many other ISPs also are behaving like this now since I see a lot of posters like 100mbps UL for 700/-

Actually last week i downloaded 200gb from different file hosting sites like kbagi and link-removed. They didn't throttle my speed once, i use idm and it downloaded at full speed.
Maybe my area doesn't have many hathway users.

woah.
excitel never gives me more than 3-4 MB/sec (30-40 Mbps) when i download from link-removed and my plan speed is 75 Mbps

can you ping me any file link that u downloaded from link-removed where you got full download speed. i want to see what im getting

Maybe you use jdownloader or default downloader of browser.
IDM always gives me 6mb/s on my 50mbps

idk the forum rules but you should remove that link for piracy reasons.

i always use idm.

i did a speedtest on link-removed got like 11 Mbps download and same for upload while my connection is of 75 Mbps .
i guess this is the reason why i also face bufferings when i try to watch videos hosted on link-removed.

shiity excitel.

How you did the speedtest on link-removed???

For this reason only I downgraded to their lowest plan. i.e. 30Mbps@600Rs.

But now on even lower plan 20Mbps@500Rs. on TriplePlay...... you would not notice any difference 100Mbps/ 75Mbps/ 50Mbps/30Mbps/20Mbps plan except on speedtest.

I did a few tests on speedtest.net and link-removed on Excitel 75Mbps Plan with and without Private Internet Access VPN.

For some reasons PIA with UDP doesn't work well with Excitel, I don't know why. But with TCP, I could get around 25-30ish Mbps speeds on international servers. Its way lower than 75Mbits but still its better than >10Mbps I get without VPN.

link-removed Upload speeds didn't show up for some reason, tried other browers but not avail.
