Hey guys. Well I guess hathway is starting to become pretty cheap as well, check out their new packages, especially that thruway regular. Unlimited 64 kbps and 500 bucks. Not bad. Hathway New Packages

Ask for a freeway plan... if it is available in your area.... not mentioned on the webpage but its one helluva plan....

yes its called freeway monthly....slowly hathway is increasing this thing ...256kbps unlimited day night........1000+tax..ard 1.1kbut its in some area.....i dont hav it..but knows a guy who has it...also i mailed them...and they told me its not available presently in my area........

I'll check it out because my CTO is getting hathway soon, anything to leave sify I will do. 🙂

hathway's freeway is AWESOME !!! been using it for 10 days now ! im on heaven 🙄

yeah hatway seems to be adding this plan of 256k for Rs 1000 + tax even in hyd but they seem to be too slow in expanding

I believe I will be getting this hathway connection as I called them up and asked them. So let's see, once I get it oh man I can't wait to dump sify and screw with them 😛. With the freeway plan, what's the minimum speed you guys actually get?

Where do stay?Mumbai or Delhi? If you are in where exactly in mumbai?
i am asking this cause a friend of mine in delhi barely gets 30Kbps on a 512Kbps line while another one in mumbai gets around 20Kbps on the 256Kbps line.

If you get that speed, still it's pretty fast I would say. After all, it's cable modem and cable broadband is never a dedicated connection, dsl on the other hand is.

cable can ofcourse be dedicated connection if the ISP programs it to. and DSL can be a shared connection if the ISP wants it to. who says that the technology has these unbelievably stupid conditions?

Well in all my experience, I've never seen shared dsl or dedicated cable. That's how ISPs generally have it.

Internet in itself is a shared resource....Buying dedicated bandwidth is going to cost a bomb..Its just that there's the bottleneck of an overcrowded node with Cable but with DSL you got 'contention ratios'..

And yes i've been using it for 5 months now, ever since its been upgraded to 256 from 128..And yes believe it or not, hathway increased that without any tariff increase.. Interesing way to fight BSNL!
