I'm new to Share Market with a very little knowledge.

Kindly suggest me the Do's and Don'ts of it

I am going to invest in few thousands only, so based on that i need suggestions

Demat Account - Which one is the cheap and best(service charges) bank to open a a/c?
 
Open demat after bargaining brokerage and annual charges .
Try Sharekhan/IIFL .... I have ac with IIFL and icicidirect

Using from about 2 yrs. (investment only - no day trading)

You can link any bank.

No brokerage charges for delivery trades. (except exchange and government charges)

They have started charging for DEMAT account recently. (150Rs per year)

But since I was the early user - I fall under no AMC offer.

Their mobile app and browser based UI is excellent... I cant compare with other brokers though as I have not used any other.
 
Bank does not (or should not) charge anything for saving account.

Saving account and DEMAT account is different thing.

DEMAT account and trading account you need have of upstox.

Bank account you can have of any bank (but should be under same name/PAN as trading account)
 
Yeah i know the difference btw savings and demat a/c.
So it seems i can have any bank's demat a/c. OK

So i have to register with a stock broker..hmm..ok..got it
 

With upstox you can not have any bank's DEMAT account. You have to have their DEMAT account.
 
Recently I opened Demat Account with HDFC (because I have Saving Account with same bank).
I have purchased few Shares, also tried to Sell Shares.
While purchasing, amount is getting deducted from my Saving Account. But when I sold Shares, no amount was credited back. Its been 7-8 days back I had sold. So wanted to know where can I checked amount receiving after selling Shares in HDFC Securities? and how this amount is credited back to Saving Account? Fund Hold and Release section only shows 0.
