Gurugram: FASTag to be a must at Kherki toll - Times of India

From January 1, FASTag is going to be mandatory for all vehicles driving through toll booths across India, including the busy Kherki Daula plaza on the Delhi-Gurugram expressway.

So what will be the mechanism if the balance is insufficient? Tag not readable? Tag blacklisted? These scenarios will still require manual intervention.

They will send a notice to your home maybe just like Traffic challan 🤔
 

Till now the toll gate won't open under any of these circumstances. So what you say is, toll gates will open regardless of the status of the tag?
 
Yeah , the whole meaning of FASTag will be useless if they put a barrier over there . Or else a bypass like something is made for alternate method when balance is low and maybe a single guy is kept instead of 5-6 booths for taking that amount.

This can also happen - Like the Fastag collection place(FASTag POS) leaves the vehicle even if balance is low without any barrier, but keeps the vehicle number in database. After 100 metres there will be a collection point of police or toll authority(which has the database) which takes the amount via cash/electronic method

The barrier thing has to go first as people are scammed a lot of times

so is Paytm's fastag a good option? i do not want one that is connected to my bank account and paytm seems like the only good alternative. airtel is another but not sure if they would force me to create an account with them or use their wallet which i don't use. any advice would be helpful.
 
If u don't want to create a wallet then Paytm will be good. I have NHAI fastag and i had to create a nhai wallet for the same, coz i took it on the way to my destination. Even i ordered one but it was late and i left for my destination
 
wallet on what platform? airtel wallet does not work without their bank account right?
