I have never been charged customs as of yet. I was expecting customs for a $100 smartwatch that I bought from Gearbest but I wasn't charged. It's upon your luck.
 
ordered silicon strap for my pebble 2-3 days ago. first direct purchase from gearbest. i think i created account to order something for dexter few months ago. hoping to get it next week.

I too ordered fitbit charge 2 bands for me. getting a charge 2 for 99 bucks thru a friend from US so buying extra just in case.
 

Did your package go thru delhi customs? I have observed that packages going thru delhi customs don't get charged customs that much but every fucking package I've got thru mumbai customs, I've had to pay customs.
 
I've bought more than 15 items from Gearbest and all come via Gati through their Delhi gateway which then comes to my place mostly via Mumbai and sometimes via Pune. I've never been charged customs.

And by my place I mean a Mumbai suburb.
 
check the tracking info of your item. It show show you the route it took from china to india.

Ive observed that if point of entry into india is in delhi customs, then no customs are usually charged but if point of entry is in mumbai, people are fucked
