I think what he meant was that he had a problem with his 502T before he could switch to bridged mode. He also mentions that his 502T
router did not have the latest firmware at that time, and so he did not want to try experimenting with bridged mode on that router..
I think the reason he put up the disclaimer about doing it at your own risk was that
a. He had faced some problems with his MTNL router with the older firmware.
b. This was probably the first time anyone had talked about bridged mode in this forum, and it was almost experimental at that point. So he just wanted to make sure that no one blames him, if anything goes wrong with their routers while trying this.
As long as you have the latest version of the firmware, that is V2.00B01T01.ML.20050530, you should be fine. You can check the version of the firmware from the router configuration page (
http://192.168.1.1), by selecting Status tab and then clicking on Device Info.
