Plan Change in jaipur
xDjwZ0f.jpg

I applied for 800 @ 50mbps plan today. They took my documents. They provide me Coustmore id to recharge. Lets see when they give the connection.

A 10% tariff hike in broadband is expected by January 2020. Even TRAI is pushing for this much increase for Telcos to recover losses. We can alternately say that Jio has spoiled the whole telecom market for users, quite contrary to when it launched mobile services.

On the other hand, TSBB is now available in my locality in Lucknow. The wires with TSBB mark can be seen 100 meters from my house. Upon inquiring, they told they can draw these wires to my house if I am interested in their FTTH.

The Airtel people on the other hand have their fiber wires also 100 meters from my house, but are giving 2-month time frame to change my DSL to FTTH, but shamelessly making calls to upgrade the plans while still on DSL. I would rather wait and watch for another 2-3 months and then can change to TSBB as secondary backup connection and stick with ACT as primary which has performed flawless till now.

I renewed my TSBB connection in the past week and had the connection upgraded from 25 to 100 Mbps.

Airtel doesn't seem to have a plan in sight for a FTTH connection in my residential area otherwise I'd have given up Tata Sky.

With Tata Sky dropping prices, my 40 Mbps Airtel VDSL connection costs slightly less than a 100 Mbps TSBB connection. Doesn't make sense. Advantage with Airtel VDSL is the free telephone #, public IP and very good service and support. Have some thinking to do.
