Hello Everyone.

I am currently on the BSNL 1199 plan. But the issue is, the Internet acts up a lot and there's lot of fluctuations with regards to speed and all. General browsing has become a pain the ass. Forget about downloading something. So, after discussing with the BSNL guys in my zonal area in Bhubaneswar, I have decided to go for BSNL Fiber connection. They assured me BSNL Fiber won't have any sort of fluctuations and work smoothly.

Now, they'll provide the Modem and UPS. But, I require WiFi as well. So, I need to buy a Router for that.

I'll most likely go for the 1199 or 1499 plan which used to offer 10 Mbps till 40 GB/15 Mbps till 60 GB and flat 2 Mbps post FUP. But as BSNL have announced, they are likely to increase the speeds after November 1st.

So, I wanted to know which Router should I buy?

I live a 1200 sq ft flat. And there are a couple of rooms between where my room is, and where the Router + Modem will be placed. So, based on that, which Router would you all recommend me to buy?

Thanks!

@aniladivishnu.2000 ,

Thanks.

At max its 3-4 devices. Couple of laptops and couple of phones. Though not always.

As for amount of data that is used each day, on an average I have used close to 100GB each month this calendar year. So, roughly around 3 GB each day.

I would say 2 clients online together most of the times.

If I get Fiber, I would indeed be streaming some TV shows or Football/Basketball games online at Full HD on my PC.

Internet for home.

Yes, online shopping is there.

No need to control the content.

I have 2 FTTH connections at home. One is connected to ASUS RT-AC68U AC1900 Gigabit Router for the whole family and the other one is a regular TP-Link 300 Mbps Wireless N router.
Needless to say the Asus handles everything we can possibly throw on it - smart tvs, tablets, phones, laptops and computers. It's on the expensive side but worth every penny.

Also, might as well go for the 1995 plan. 80 Mbps upto 250 GB.

@thehitman47 ,

Yeah. I might change the plan.

BTW, the Asus one is too expensive. Thing is, I don't really need the Router for that many devices either. 1 Laptop and 1 Phone most of the times. May be 1 more laptop and 1 more phone but that would be once a while. So, that is why I was looking at something around 1.5 k INR range!

when your range is around INR 15000 you should buy this one
https://www.amazon.in/D-Link-DIR-81...nements=p_n_feature_two_browse-bin:7004995031
because TP-Link routers are good but the Archer c20 does not have good wireless range it can only work up to 1000 sqft and the tp-Link tlw r 840n has good range but does not handil your internet speeds properly if it is more than 50Mbps did you no that you told mee that you will change to 80Mbps plan?
so the D-Link DIR 816 is the king in this lo price and pleas bee aware that you mite get 5 % less range than you wanted but for the price it is the only router that can match most of your needs
if i was in your place i would up my price a littlebit and go for the
https://www.amazon.in/TP-LINK-Arche...508849114&sr=8-1&keywords=TP-Link+Archer+c20i
because i dont like d

Both choices are good.....

Go with anyone..... Just install it at the centre of Flat near Ceiling...... you will get good signal everywhere....

Dual band c20 option is really good but you need to keep your router near (same room/ line of sight) the Android TV box/ Smart TV.... so that 5MHz functions optimally.....
