Some questions about Plan Change

I am a new BSNL Broadband subscriber from Sambalpur Telecom Circle, Orissa State (Bargarh Telephone Exchange). I was given the Home 250 Startup Plan. But being a habituated downloader, I applied for a plan change to Home 900 UL. Now the guys at Sambalpur (where the Server is located) has got me and themselves confused. I know that there is a minimum hiring period of 3 months with Home 250 Startup plan. I thought it means that I can not cancel my subscription before 3 months. But I am being told that I can NOT change my plan before 3 months!!! Is it correct?? Logically I should be allowed to change my plan whenever I want to. Can anybody please clarify. Can plan change be applied for at anytime or it is done on 1st day of every month only?? A source told me that as per a new system effective from November 12, 2007, plan change is possible on any date of a month. What exactly are the rules?? I have taken the Type I modem on rental basis. Can I purchase it later after paying the difference amount of Rs. 700/- (against security deposite amount of Rs. 500/-?? Can I change my modem to a Type IV later?? I will be grateful, if anybody can clarify on these. Thank You. Lalit
