@ superunknown

when we set our upload speed to 10 KBps or less, then only we are able to get max speeds of about 200KBps, if we set it more than that, then the down speed comes down badly

yes, u r right that v should not limit our upload speed but there's nothing else we can do. And we only download during the night hours (12-8) at 2mbps. The rest of the day time, we seed at full speed, coz seeding can be done 24x7.
when i had the 590_NU plan, my ratio was always more than 2 and in some sites even more than that. It's only after i switched over to 849_NU that my ratio has come down but i still make sure that it stays around 1.5 always.

have you tried the 'upload @ 10KBps' thing, it might work in your case. And just to check, you can download a torrent which has many seeders.

yes the torrent im dloading and have dloaded using mtnl has had atleast 300 and one 3000 seeds :S .upload is set at 10kbps . are u getting close to 200kbps on bittorent ? If so could u perhaps give me the settings you have used in your bittorent client ?

Thanks 🙂

EDIT: I'm using UTStarcom UT-300R2U & am on the 849NU Plan.I'v also switched from PPPoE to bridged mode following the guide in the sticky.

what i can't understand is why you guys set your upload limits to just 8 or 10kBps?

to get downloads speeds of up to 215 kBps...

if you say you configured your client according to the tutorials you must have read that your upload speed must be 80% of its maximum value so with upload speeds of about 220 kbps (meaning about 27 kBps) you should set your values to about 22 to 25 kBps.

yes, read that and have been seeding at 22-25 kBps since i started downloading from torrents, more than 4 yrs now...

what kind of a community person are you being if you want download speeds of 200 kBps but uploading only at 10 kBps?

if not better, i'm as good a community person as you... 🙂

a ratio of 20:1? do you seed for 2-3 weeks after you've downloaded anything?

yes, i do seed for more than a week...and jfyi, i seed till 1.5 ratio...

1. ok if you've been downloading for more than 4 years then i think you've tweaked your torrent client as much as it can be, anyway, those were mainly for newbies who keep asking about upload speeds and upload slots.2. ok have you tried increasing your upload slots? because its very important. (just asking, need feedback if it makes a difference to others as well).3. what was that about being better than me?? (ok just kidding, just kidding, peace).4. well good, no wonder most of us get 200+ speeds.

Alrit i was told not to make repitative threads ^^ so heres a copy and paste from my thread ... :
