Excitel Broadband through FTTH?

The local guy who came to my place to replace the wire told me that I can get connected to Excitel through FTTH in a couple of weeks. I am not sure if this is something that Excitel is doing on their own or encouraging their partners to start doing or my LCO doing it on his own. The guy said that he might be able to offer me FTTH setup before the end of the month. But definitely before Diwali. Would probably switch to it. Not sure if they plan to run both networks independently or force all existing subscribers to upgrade to FTTH in the coming months.

Any other Excitel user here whose LCO has switched or is working on switching to FTTH?

Here my LCO told me (4-5 months ago) he will switch in a month but nothing yet

had a talk with the guy who handles all the repair work at my lco. he said they dont have any plans for ftth and that fiber installation takes about 25k . also that no customer prefers internet over fiber. sad life.

my local internet provider change my copper setup to fiber for free and getting 600mbps upload speed after the upgrade.
