I dont get this, why do you have to pay for something that isnt your fault? does this mean rival LCO can keep on cutting wires every fortnight and you have to pay them everytime for new cable?so the guy that came to my place told me that officially the rate is rs. 10 per meter but he can get it done without informing the backend people. i paid 400 bucks for the reinstall. i got the wire installed through the roof on the second floor instead of first to increase the height of the wire crossing the road even more. hard to say if the total wire used was more than 40 meters but the guy did a pretty fast job of getting me back online.
cool thing is that the guy told me that if i wanted, he can get me connected through fiber in the coming weeks. it seems that they are going to upgrade the local network and offer ftth to people interested. i would need to pay for optical fiber and the box (whatever it is called) but he said that it should improve connection stability and probably even speeds during rush hours.
told him to contact me when this option is available in my part of the sector.
but you do pay service tax and other blah blah taxes everymonth? even in my village, whenever my dads bsnl connection wires get snapped, bsnl guys themselves come after few days and repair the wire themselves without any cost (still give them 100rs as chai kharcha)this was not a case of sabotage. a bus actually took a wrong turn around my house and actually hit a pole besides this cable while trying to get out. sabotage would have been a completely different issue. i did not really see any issue paying for something that was not LCO's own fault as well. I had originally asked him to install the cable through the first floor balcony which meant that the cable was indeed hanging pretty low over the road. But then the roads are not wide enough for buses to pass through so there had been no issue since I got the connection many months ago.

why lco is saying same thing for last 6 month and still not switched 😕righto. i would probably switch to ftth when they launch it in coming weeks and dump abs.
