Hope it crush Paytm. Jab se modi ne paytm ki add ki hai. Mujhe us company se na jane kyu nafrat ho gayi hai.

By the way why not airtel?
 
hard to say. Amazon has big plans with pay but they are expanding it very slow. but then they do things slowly. flipkart is doing a much better job with PhonePe from what i am seeing. though even they have no support for power and water bills for my region. Paytm is the only service provider offering electricity bill for haryana. water on the other hand has no third party app support from my understanding.
 
airtel is being a dick company here. they want their customers to use their own my airtel app so that they can push their own junk on them. the app is pretty good no doubt. but i do not need the additional nonsense of payments bank and dialer. they know they can get away with it and they are doing just that.
 

PhonePe has no support for airtel. assuming Paytm still does, it is a miracle that airtel is letting them offer airtel recharges and payments. i have been using their own app to make payments for a long time now.

I think Airtel is just playing ball with Paytm because they have to based on their growing monopoly.
Airtel just wants to force AirtelBank on everyone. I hope Vodafone doesn't take that route with m-pesa, they already are kinda forcing users to register to it if they want to use the MyVodafone app.
 
yup. there was no way to bypass the terms and condition popup and they opened m-pesa account for my dad's account. i would have dumped vodafone right there but dad does not let me mnp his number to another operator.

The amount of fine etc is besides the point. All I am saying is your hatred towards Paytm is based on Modi's alleged endorsement of PayTM which didn't really happen officially or legally.

You can hate PayTM for their business practices and polices but not for something which is not even a thing.

Heres the thing, there are much more various and solid reasons to hate PayTM and our present sarkar, just don't hate it based on reasons which aren't valid or true.

Oh come on... You really think the PMO office has time to go through a file of ads to approve/reject/view which has PM's face on it? There is no controversy here man, our govt. doesn't really care that much to uphold the law.
I am pretty sure there are many ads which easily get away with it unless and until people make an issue of it.
Unfortunately this is even true with use of our emblem and flag (whose usage is in the same ACT as PM or any Indian representative)

Also I am sure after the first fine the second charge on same ACT would be a bit more serious. Thats why it isn't repeated.

As much as this is bad, terrible and stupid as long as its in the law and being exploited nicely there is nothing wrong with it. Law is what makes us civilized and keeps us vigilant.
 
You think ToI would publish a front page ad for x product with huge PM Modi image tomorrow on their front page without getting it approved through their channels in PMO? Cool.

Absolutely. Pretty sure as long as TOI/any publication guidelines are met they would approve the ad. Since it was just an ad, they aren't liable to any legal actions.
Media publications are not obligated to make sure the ads are legal or not as long as they pass through the media censorship laws.

Few weeks ago a bitcoin book + free bitcoin in return/ scam ad was the first page of all newspapers, bitcoin as of now has no regulation in India (soon to be supposedly legal) but companies which ran bitcoin trading were raided last year and in one of parliament reading a minister even said bitcoin is a 'ponzi scheme'.
Pretty sure no media outlet was obligated to ask if they should run a bitcoin related ad or not.
