One of the most well known Telecom entities of India, Bharti Tele-Ventures (BTVL) has announced big plans about expanding their position in the Indian market. The company is aiming to invest around USD 1 Billion in the various services under the Airtel brand name during the current financial year. This is around a 15% improvement over the investment BTVL made last year, which came to around USD 875 million.

Majority of this investment from the company would go into expanding the mobile business, which in return brings the company its maximum revenues. Most of the customers of the company are related to this stream of Bharti’s business line. More and more cities are going mobile overtaking the number of local fixed line connections. This gives the company a huge opportunity to expand their customer base.

Ya just read it today in the newspaper.Wats the point of wiring (landline&BB) up new cities when u dont even cover a single city properly? They advertise on the website that the connection is available in ur area... when u call them up u get the reply ...." no sir not covered yet..still expanding"In one locality they even put up hoardings before even properly wiring it up...one disguntled customer's letter was published regarding this in the Hindu.

because they wanna cover the posh areas of every city thats ywhere everyone has money to spend to get a new landline 😛

actually they are targeting the areas where BSNL is suffering from delivery of service. the sector i lived in faridabad, BSNL had exausted all their connections so everyone took airtel! same here in gurgaon. getting a bsnl connection is tougher. airtel guys do it in a snap.

Yes but why make false advertisements ??

it is actually the best. they are just complaining abt airtel mentioning that they serve a particular area and they later say that the particular gali muhalla is not covered. now they cannot actually give you house numbers in advertisements where they can actually provide a connection?

Dont u think the companies need to earn a little profit also 🙄 Atleast they provide you for what u pay unlike other BB companies

exactly! airtel delivers what it promises and people blame me for prasing them always!

Airtel service is PATHETIC. Agreed they cant give ur house nos. in their advt. but even on contacting them, they fail to provide the right info.

Well, I had applied for their conn. Initially they confirmed whole of my area was covered, gave me ref no. and told that a guy would come to my house within 2 days. After 3 days nobody turned up. On contacting them again they said - "Sir we arent sure whether whole of ur area is covered". Instead gave me nos. of their local franchise and asked to verify urself!!!

And for that local man he is still not able to give me the right info.
Even after 2 days of asking the local guy, his reply was - "sir, system me problem hai. kal subhe pata doonga".

u can actually check for their availability by looking for their dabbas around your house and checking if any closeby PCOs has their telephones.

Exactly...who talked abt particular galis or house no's ? ..they have advertised on the website that they have my locality covered...ad has been there for the past 4 months or so....but when contacted by phone, the response is negative. Guess..its happening in other localities as well...

Not really blaming them for that but reading the posts here...had come to expect everything good from them...thats it.

Thanks for sharing that Sushubh.

But dont u think it speaks of their POOR service. They might be delivering good reliable conn. but being unable to verify a basic thing, such as availibility and giving assurance of conn. ???

Although Tata takes time in giving conn. but they at least have a proper online appl. system in place.
