welli wish him goodluck but i think it wont help muchOnly think that helps is for new companies that give better deals so SiFy looses al its (smart) victimsIts worth a try though

everyone knows sify is not going to change becoz of 1 case. the aim is to tell them that they s*ck and we users are the one suffering. and if we get media attention, trai might intervene. 🙂

There is ofcourse a case for complaining about Sify to the Consumer Court. What they do is misinform in their proclamations or ads as in calling the 32+ package unlimited while putting hidden constraints. If I remember, quite a few favorable rulings in similar cases regarding other products and/or services have been p@$$ed.I mean there's no way they can say "Unlimited" on their brochure and hide the 6 hour usage limit in their "Terms of Agreement", and hide the 75 MB limit condition in god knows where.

the first call i made to them got me an @$$urance that the connectivity is wireless. i thought that explained the 3500 bucks installation fee. later they said, they were talking abt CTO connectivity.so, they can potentially tell the customer that they have T1 lines to offer. but to CTO not to you...

 phew... been keeping busy on this forum haven't we?? 😛 good.. sue sify.. am very satisfied with their services, but just maybe i can get an even better deal 😀 anyway thought this might help.. in the terms and conditions page of the unlimited packages on sify's website, they differentiate between commercial and home usage. they clearly state that their packages are meant only for home use and not for commercial use.no big deal, because, you are a home user, right?? WRONG!! they further state that usage of 6 hours or above is considered as commercial usage and they reserve the rights to cancel the accounts of any user who exceeds this limit. so me and sushubh are considered as commercial users and not as home users, and sify can cacel or accounts!!! (you are online for more than 6 hrs, aren't you sushubh??) SICK!!, then what is the point of offering unlimited packages?? why not just offer a 6 hrs per day pack??

well what you wrote proved how stupid they are. if they say that using net for more than 6hrs is not allowed on shared packs, then how can they talk about deducting 1 day usage on the 64kbps pack after 6 hrs of usage coz its a shared pack so it also comes under home usage only.if they enforce it on me, what i would do is demand a list of users from them. go to the market and see how many users in markets use their shared packages. i already know 1 travel agent. will demand cancelling their accounts.

they won't do that.. but still they could use that in court.. show this clause in their agreement to support the 75 megs limit or something.. i dunno  🤔

trust me, indian judiciary is one of the few organisations left in india which makes some sense. a consumer court when shown the trai's recommendation is going to find Sify cheating with customer. the only problem india has is the lack of awareness. the lack of consumer activism. and the attitude. like people think, they are getting a better deal than staying with dialup. does not make sense to me, becoz they promised that i would no longer face the h@$$les i suffered with dialup. they say it on their brochure.how do i suffer more than a dialup user?speeds are similar to dialup user.i have to connect, i get automatically disconnected.it took 5 months for sify to provide me powerbackup. dialup users don't get disconnected when there is a powercut.dialup does not go down with every rain.dialup does not get me to interact with atrocious cablewallas.the list can go on...

i don't have any power backup!! i don't even need any.. anyway i'd like ti file against them in consumer court too, but will wait and see how the other case works out

grrr... u are one of the happy customers. stop being greedy. :lol:i am in not for money, but for substance. to set an example. that customers know that they are being exploited. and they can fire back. 🙄

😀 😛 i'm not being greedy.. but would like my 3500 bucks back.. i'd still stay on sify though 🙄

One of the worst things about dial-ups, which doesn't exist on Sify. While I am on this or any other forum thinking about what to write, I would still be getting charged by the second, every second, for staying online 😛
