Excitel Broadband Slowdown During Evening/Weekends

There is a pattern to every disruptive service. I remember, I was one of the very few privileged who got the Jio preview when no one heard about it, speeds were incredible. On Band 40 I was getting a minimum 12-13MB/s symmetric when the tower was no where near my residence. Eventually, speeds got shit and now it's less than turtle. There was a great article in ET titled, India riding on 4G lanes at 3G speeds.
The same cycle seems to be repeating now in case of Excitel.

jio 4G is 80% times works as 2G or even worse.

But then Hathway has a lot of complaints in recent days here on the forum itself. And I have not seen much feedback about DEN 🙁

If DEN = Tripleplay, then the issue you are having on excited, will not happen on tripleplay/den. Speed never goes dow but their peering is going shit tbh. check my post of it.

I am not going to touch ACT if it comes to my area 😀 They really have gone downhill in the past couple of years 😀

In that case I'll probably go back to my old ISP, 12 Mbps seems reasonable enough and the backbone is AIrtel which means lower latencies but their uptimes are worse than Shitcitel.

I was managing fine running Netflix on 3mbps on Reliance Broadband so it should not be that bad! Anyhow... Here's hoping Excitel issues are just temporary.

i personally do not care if i get 50mbps all the time. i don't even care about the 80% trai regulation. the internet needs to be usable. when airtel 4mbps is more usable than your 50mbps plan 😀 it kind of becomes unacceptable 😀
I would also like to mention that when downloading any torrent, speeds are averaging about 40-45kbps except their peered torrents (such as Ubuntu, etc.) When downloading the same on Airtel Broadband, that same torrent will reach around 1MB/s.
To all those planning to apply for Excitel and fantasizing about downloading via torrents, stay away. They are throttling P2P traffic. Also it is a known fact that all traffic to Google, Microsoft and Apple are peered. 4k60fps videos on YouTube will load instantly but Vimeo and Twitch.tv gets stuck on buffering; forget about multiplayer games. So much so for #$%&ing unlimited internet when you #$%&ing throttle everything. Gross Net Neutrality violation.

Excitel does manage to cater to 90% of their audience with peered services alone. I torrent through VPN and I get reasonable speeds on well seeded torrents.

But yeah... Poorly seeded torrents download fine on Airtel but remain stuck at 0kbps on Excitel so there's that.

Netflix was not loading for me at that time. Google services were working reasonably fine. Facebook does not load half the time on Excitel for me in any case at any time.

well good thing that you guys at least have other isps has an option in your area.
while i dont have any. gotta stuck with excitel. sadlife , feelsbadman

well it is working fine for me at the moment too. probably has been happening during evening for the last two days. so would be monitoring my connection between 6-9pm period.

Because of shitcitel's shenanigans I have setup a smokeping server on my Rapsberry, will be continuously monitoring the link now and graphing latency alongwith packet loss.

Let me set it up on my Pi too 😀

but then my pi is constantly on VPN so it would not be much accurate.
