Why is Exattnet cheating us ?

hello ppl ..... i am currently a user of value online and i am using their 128k unlimited scheme ... which sux btw .... any1 goin for it .... please change ur decision .... value online is by far the worst isp ever .... anyway frustrated with my current isp ..... i called up exattnet ppl to get a new connection ..... to my surprise they had started their internet connection in my bldg .... as till last month they were not providing it in my bldg ..... anyway i am interested in their 512k plan of theirs ..... so their correspondent came over to my place ..... we started discussing abt the 512k plan ..... i asked him the price for the single user .... he told me 2500 .... i was shocked ..... cause on the net i read 1400 per month .... so i showed him the price .... and he was like i am sorry i dont know abt this .... they dint tell me ..... i was like wth ...... anyway ..... i carried on to ask so what will be the speed which i will get ....... guess what he replies ? ..... he said u wont get more than 256k on a 512k plan ... i was shocked .... i was like then why shud i pay for 512k ? ..... he was like if u go for 256k then u will get 128k speed ..... so i asked him why are ull doin this .... he replied that this isp is playing games wid ppl ... they try to trick the customers ... and get them attracted to this scheme ... thats all ..... he carried on to say if u buy the multi user plan then u will get ur 512k speed .... otherwise in the single user plan u wont get it ..... i was pretty shocked to hear ... that exattnet ppl themselves are saying that they are tricking ppl .... lol it was funny ..... any1 here who has 512k unlimited single user plan .... who is getting speeds of 512k rather than 256k ? ..... btw i am from haji ali area , mumbai ..

Well cant say much about exatt since i don't know anyone using exatt but mine is suppose to be a 128k connection but i am getting 160k 😛. Anyways i think exatt is anyways better then anything else available and another thing is that you might be getting your connection through the cable wallah and if so then stay away. Many times people end up paying almost 70% more then they should because of these cable bastards.

prophet i can see you are using igate , igate is definately better in speeds but sadly its not available in my area . I remember one of my friend had igate in walkeshwar area and he used to get speeds of 150KB download , that is in the night though but yet . igate is pretty good but heard their customer service is pathetic , which i believe its not a surprise as most of the isps customer service is bad . Only if Exattnet offers true 512k speed to their users it will be so cool . anyone in here who actually is on a 512k single user unlimited plan and is actually getting that much speed ?

Even if u get a 512k conenction dont pay him more than whats mentioned on the site. This is next to robbery in the sunlight. Kick those people

well...point 1 ) exattnet never makes home connection . point 2 ) its the CTO that is asking for 2500....so kik him in the ass. point 3 ) exattnet is the best isp ever... trust me..i have been with them now over a year and half or so .... its not just me..its more than half of mulund thats wired on exattnet in mumbai . any problems that that caused are usually at the cto's end . i had a 256 k conn and i used to get 33 kbps ...and i know a friend arvind who is in andheri and is a regular on these forums gets 64 kbps .so its clear that the cto is out to thug you ....exattnet rocks still

praz.......search my topics on exatt......i try damn hard to get their connection but no avail..........if u get exatt or igate...i must say go 4 it...they r better than other cheap ones....i have hathway...whom star has signed...and on 256kbps night plan i get max download speed ard 27 that too unstable avg ard 22kBps=186kbps.......but still i m managing............and btw...its the cto who charge xtra on terms of maintenance

i have ExattNet 512 , its ok , nothing great ... i get max speeds of 40-42 , so the connection is kinda 384K/128K , but the best thing for me is i get only for 1000 Rs unlimited 😉 so i am somewhat happy with the connection right now but the main problem is that i get disconnected after exactly 5 hours (those guys finally admitted they do it for some unkonwn reasons and it will be fixed in 1-2 weeks ) , but this disconnection gets on my nerve ....

thanks for ur replies ... well i yet havent got the connection . the cto told me he will start the net within 1 week . its been nearly 3 weeks and he hasnt done anything ... next time i speak to him i am gonna fire him .... though i had spoken to him earlier this week he yet says that you wont get more than 25-30 now i have no clue what should i do should i complain to exattnet people that this guy is doing such things ?

25-30 is pretty bad for a 512 connection ... actually when u get it in the beginning its uncapped till 3-4 GB's ... then after that they show their true colours .. the max u can get will be exact 44.7 kbps [yes , thats the max u will reach] .. as i said earlier it will become like a 384/128 connection ... also its possible u may have 5 hours disconnection like many of us exatt users ... also these guys now cleared up everything , they said that atleast I (512 user) will have 5 hour disconnection throughout , those idiots have included this kind of disconnection in their plans [i confirmed with 2 morons there] .. god knows why they wanna disconnect after every 5 hours , i simply cant understand ...

they just wanna disconnect so we their bandwidth usage is less..i dont care about that.. i renew wid a different username every couple of months since there are tons of inactive username/passwords i knw on my network .

My cable guy is quoting twice the price cited on their site. I talked to the Exatt.net sales staff. They obviously have no control over these thugs... they mentioned some lame excuses like maintanence etc. So, does that mean the cable guy has to work twice as hard to maintain a 128 kbps connection as compared to a 64 kbps connection???I hope someday we are able to get rid of these middlemen and get a decent speed at a reasonalbe rate. Considering all the rate cuts in leased lines, a 256-kbps unlimited connection should not cost more than 1000-1200 today.In the US they are talking about 10 and 14 mbps connects and we just cannot get past the 64-128 kbps mark. And we are supposed to be a It superpower or something like that!!!!!!!Elsewhere, there is competition and prices go down. But here in India, the $#@&&*s gang up and loot us royally.

i finally bought exatt 256 unlimited instead of 512 cause now somehow my cable guy is quoting me 1800 i am really frustrated with this ppl 🙁 400 rs more they are charging for 512 connection so thats why i bought 256 i am paying 1000rs per month for 256my net has just started and i tried to download something and my speed is varying from 17-25where in a normal 256 connection it shud vary from 24-32 i guess i have no other choice but to live with this speed 🙁

Dude, you are very lucky to get 256k unlimited for 1000 bucks......Here in Thane they are charging something like 1500 bux, including service tax 🙁 🙁 🙁

amogh that is really bad .... 1500 for 256 :S have u complained to exattnet about this ?

Can't help it man.....they say they have to pay for maintenance and shit. 🙁
