Flipkart Is Now Letting Users Buy Things On Credit With Its Buy Now, Pay Later Option - OfficeChai

Source

Nobody on OfficeChai’s staff appears to have been deemed sufficiently credit-worthy to be picked, but users have reported finding as much as Rs. 5000 in credit under the My Account tab in their Flipkart apps. This amount can be used to make purchases on Flipkart without any immediate payments. On the 1st of the next month, Flipkart will send notifications around what their bill was, and the payments will have to be made by the 10th, either through net banking, debit card, or credit card.

Flipkart will hope people pay up on time, but plans to punish defaulters. The company will levy a penalty of Rs 100 for outstanding amounts up to Rs 2,000, Rs 200 for outstanding amounts between Rs 2,001 and 4,001 and Rs 400 for outstanding amounts Rs 4,001 and above, says the FAQ section of Flipkart Pay later. Further defaults will lead to suspension of subsequent purchases from the account.

Recently bought a pair of slipper using this. Didn't face any issue. But I have used it before so my limit was already established. 5000 iirc.

@Sushubh Need help with their billing cycle, Flipkart support is crazy. I bought some stuff just to test this payment option last month (16-17 oct) amount is very small.

So for last month transactions cardless credit bill should have generated on 1st of Nov right ? and I have to pay it by 15 Nov but in app it is showing 0 due for oct (last month transaction is visible).

How do I pay this bill so they don't add lates fines and ruin my credit score their support cannot understand and saying cardless option is disabled which is hilarious as I it is enabled normally for account and I can purchase new items with it.

Flipkart support has no clue how this should work ?

not sure if they have changed anything in recent weeks. but for me, they sent me mail when the payment was due and i paid it right then.

checked my records. i purchased something in september. got a mail about pending payment on october 1 and that's when i paid. not sure if they have changed things since then.

definitely weird. maybe they have not yet processed transactions for last month because of technical delays
