Date Rate = 2048kbps but still slow speed.

MTNL - 256UL Combo
Hi,My date rate is set at 2048kbps, but still im experiencing download speed of 256kbps.Any help?
 
The data rate is the speed with which the modem can communicate to the server it is connected to, on that server your account has the speed at which you can surf/browse the net. Anyways you have a 256Kbps plan how much more are above 256K are you expecting?
 
It appears you've checked from a server which is giving you a bad latency. I recommend checking from Singapore or much better, Barcelona. Also, are you sure you're synced at 2048 Kbps? Could you post a screen? What is your SNR Margin/Line Attenuation value? Apart from the speed test, where else have you checked your speeds?
 
Here is the screenshot. I've been having varied speeds. I've been having around 256kbps speeds with link-removed. 512kbps speeds with other http. 1500+ kbps speeds with FTP.

So i'm kindda confused. In any way, im getting more speed than i should, so im not complaining....😀
 
^ change the server ..dont test from islamabad..thats the slowest..use mumbai server
 

y dont u use mumbai server ??and consider urself to be lucky to be synced at 2048 kbps on 590NU planif mtnl happens to read this topic they will put u back to 256 😛lol kidding
 
590NU and synched at 2048 is sure lucky, u cannot even complain for slow speeds to MTNL, the first thing they would do u is sync you at 256kbps which the 590NU plan offers.An ya, use Mumbai Server to get better results.......
 
I get good results from european servers like in Munich or Frankfurt in Germany
