Setup problem

Can anybody tell me how to setup a connection initially? Is it necessary to create a new connection from control panel and give username and password or is it automatic. Is it necessary to give IP addreses.BSNL people told me there is no need to give IP addreses if you are using Windowx XP. IS it correct?

well, all the settings are there in modem itself...u don't need to do any settings on ur PC (other than the network card settings)...unless u want some manual thing...but in this case i don't think u're looking for that...so i answered what u're asking 🙂
