Hathway is a fraud...

Well i have tried out many ISPs now... Tata Indicom, Sify , In2net and now hathway. One thing they all have in common is that they all are cheats, frauds, cons n the worst kind of thiefs.My latest experience with hathway is the same. I was using this 512kbps Blast pack where 11pm to 9am was free and we could download 7gb of data in the day time in a 6months pack. Things were fine for the first 4months. But the data usage shown by their site was highly erratic in this month of october. In a few days the data downloaded was reported as 0mb while other days it was shown anything like 179mb, 90mb... for normal surfing and chatting activities (earlier my usage used to be shown as 10mb, 30mb for the same) during the day time. I used to download in the night time which was promised as unlimited period.But on the 1st of november i found out my net wasn't working. When i called the customer care centers they told my account was disabled and i had to renew my pack, when 2months of usage was left in the pack still. When i checked out my account details i came to know that in the days where 0mb was reported that 0mb was replaced with amounts like 2239mb, 1900mb etc. Clearly its the night usage that was reported here.The story doesnt end here ppl. All users in my area n nearby places like malad and borivli faced the same issue. There might b easily 15-20 ppl with the same issue maybe even more.Despite several attempts at calling the customer care centers i havent got any response yet. They always tell me to renew my account which is not possible at all. I along with a few other ppl have decided to teach hathway a lesson now. I really believe i hv been cheated by hathway and my other frnd has lost like 4months of his account usage. I need some suggesstion frm u ppl on how to tackle this issue n teach hathway f**ks a lesson.:madness:

Please send a compliant to consumer forum and take these guys to consumer court. I am planning to do the same if they don't return my money.

15-20 ppl is good amount to unite and go to their office. you can even file complaint as "420" i think when 15-20 ppl complain same thing police have to take action.

I am in Bangalore and I am planning to go to consumer court on Monday if they return my monday by then. I can meet any guys who have similar experience in Consumer court monday morning at Cauvery Bhavan as a first step.

Can nyone tell me in detail about consumer court n all this stuff??
Im really tired here n really disgusted from all this. Also u know guys wen u call at their customercare centers they tell u its not the right department and tell u to call at all kinds of different numbers. After that happens 2-3 times
all i end up is getting an id of krishna@hathway.com and that asshole never replies to any emails ever.

I've been having the same problem. Just moved into mumbai 3 weeks ago. my friend had been using the same connection. His a/c also expired day before yesterday and the goddamn customer care guys say the same thing. limits expired and you need to renew your account. Please post on this post if you guys are planning to do something about this. will join the cause.

Well after paying lots of visits to the hathway office nearby... those ppl came up with another idea to fraud their customers. 2month of my pack were remaining and some person called Nilesh(asshole) from the renewal told me to pay them 2700rs and get another pack of 6months. The total value of their 6months pack is 3371rs n tht guy tryin to fool me by sayin "see u r gettin this pack very cheap; 600rs less" and wen i told him wat abt my 2months of validity in the earlier pack, tht guy said this is the discount for my 2months; have to say this guys must be good in maths😡. Also when i said tht give me another pack he tells me this is the only pack u will get. Otherwise u wont get any discount. After tht i told him if this problem occurs again, i want my remaining money back, that time he tells me it wont be possible.Also i believe this problem has happened with all the ppl in mumbai... coz all of my frnds who dload movies n stuff with the night pack had their accounts disabled. Something has to be done about this!!!

Vippy i m from chembur and i too faced same problem..and my net was dc on 30th oct noon time.....when i used to call they used to say enggr will call bak never happened..at late time they will say acct disable talk to madam tomm morning next day madam enggr checking and again no call frm them all my money wasted in talking...my plan had 1 month left...after continuous harrowing and all i paid a visit to their biometric office near my house....and than lady says all has faced problem and u need to activate your plan...i said i m ready but i wont pay full mt since that downloads are my night one what if i pay 3.5k and within 7 days u say u r finished with your acct.....so she said ill give u details..and again 1 good day wasted of mine......later next day after me calling she says to pay 2023 for 6 months which i agree as my 1month pay comes to ard 550 which is advance with earlier plan and 5 months more so 2.02k is correct what i m paying..so i paid for them...but now i m more cautious and have started to look for other option now if again they start the trap...for time being ill equipp with airtel mobile office to check mails and all...but for download i guess need to find better partner...cant be their foe as have no other decent provider and knows sify suck big time than hathwayIll say dude u better ask refund as u had 2 months old money as advance to them and still u paid 2.7k u shd have paid money same like mine or less than that.....also their site still shows usage more than limit so i still cant know when my limit will reached..also no ending date mentioned.....they are suking this days......and check your logs daily...nowadays i switch modem off and check log everytime comp starts

The only reason ppl subscribed to hathway bcoz of their 512 blast pack. I think there can be easily more than 100 users with the same problem. Yesterday when i was in their nearby office, i saw 4-5 ppl coming to make payments (to renew their disabled account at a lesser price). First i thought that the problem was only in mumbai but now its in pune n banglore also. The only alternative given by hathway to users whose account has been disabled is to give some extra money and renew their account. 3 of my frnds had upto 4months remaining in their validity. They settled to take a 3month quarterly blast pack since they cant commit to such a crappy service for 6months again. I really think this is a trick by hathway to make more money from people. It takes 1minute for them to disable an account but to activate it why should we have to renew it? Hathway should really be ashamed of such things. Somehow i feel that sify was better. At least they had a good customer service and in such situations they used to give us temp packs when we used to loose internet services for 2-3 days.

I paid Rs.3300 for 6 monthS for the Hathway 512Blast. This deal is 7Gb for 6 months and its unlimited between 11.00pm - 9.00am.

However they suddenly said at the end of one month that i have finished my allowance.

They actually tampered my usage.

I have been using hathway for over 3 years. First plan i had was 64Kbps unlimited, then the 256Kbps unlimited.

Just last month i changed to the 512Kbps night unlimited. When i checked on the 24/10/07 my usage was 924Mb.

Today its shows as 18Gb as of 1/11/07.
I still have 5 months remaining and they have shut the internet saying that my usage in the night is too high!!

Its supposed to be nigth unlimited and it does not even work in the night now!

I am going to file a case in the consumer court and also a cheating case against them. When i told them this they said please go ahead do what you like.

If anyone goes for Hathway, please take care and take regular screenshots of your usage.

You need to go to Hathway and enter your own user name and password and then you can check your usage.

Hatway says that after 7gb is crossed which is what you get for 6 months they will shut the service even in the night. So it isnt night unlimited.

The current update is that they have given me a new IP and said that they will review the account after my dad spoke to a top boss in their company.

What is there to review i dont download anythiing in the day and only use it in the night still they SCAM.

as per my experience most of the users of hathway are using this 512blast pack... also those noobs from the sales dept. also advertise new users abt this pack only.... they say u will get unlimited usage in the night frm 11pm to 9am... the catch in this pack is the cap of 7gb... wen u cross this limit they will disable ur account... hathway has never written this anywhere on their site or in any fine print anywhere whatsoever.... according to me if any user crosses this limit, his day usage should be stopped and his night usage should continue for the rest of his validity period... Im really tired of these broadband cheats in our country.... the govt. had made speeds of 256kbps mandatory for broadband providers... but i hvnt seen even a 256 unlimited pack offering decent prices... after that we have got ppl like hathway who come up with good schemes and quite affordable ones too but when u think they are good they come up n show their ugly face.. somebody said that this was the year of broadband.. well where is broadband??

yea it is, unfortunately you came to know late.

well i dint come to know abt it late as a matter of fact... when i saw it first in the news n the papers... i felt it cud happen(being an optimistic that i am)... after a few month i figured it out no isp was offering better packages... no increase in speed... only packs offering speed were ones with data or time based limits.... year of the broadband.. yeah...We have to wait 5more years when that can actually happen(im being optimistic on this one also 🙂 )

I have a update on my Dilema. They have agreed to give me a one month connection for free. They still cheated me out of Like Rs.2000.I am moving to MTNL night unlimited. Hathway is just loosing a 3 year old customer.
