This is so scary.

JIO / Airtel - noone gives you copy of what you gave your fingerprint for.

You cant even read terms and conditions. Just give fingerprint!! 😀

Vodafone forces you to use m-pesa if you use their mobile app. This is what we get when there are no regulations in place.

Recently ported from idea to airtel using adhaar .
they didnt open my account , just checked in airtel app

airtel gives incentives to sales person for opening bank accs and there is no penalty for not taking consent of the customer, so they open the bank account without consent.

You get an equal amount of communicate time to your Airtel cellular that is presently ... In order to open an Airtel Payments financial institution account, you may need to download and install.

I had already reported earlier that even IDFC bank did the same with me.

I opened account with them and they linked my Aadhar with their bank account without asking me.

the tweet talks about how airtel opened her a bank account without approval. should move to the more relevant thread i guess.

I just remembered I had done airtel KYC too. But never received SMS about bank account being opened.

Do they send SMS or silently open the account and link aadhar number with that account?

it's not happening with everyone so hard to say. i guess some outlets are doing it on their own to make extra commission or something.

Ok. I did it via official airtel relationship store. So may be they wudnt do that.

But in any case, is there anyway to know if there is airtel bank account opened?

Its not showing on my airtel myaccount page.

I am genuinely worried about linking my bank a/c to aadhaar , what if through aadhaar pay some one accesses my money
