Channels Missing after Restore Factory setting in KAON STB

Dear All,I am in Middle East and using DishTV. Recently, I have asked my DishTV dealer to upgrade to Sun network channels. He did it.But still I was not able to get the channels. It was showing Conditional Access. Three or four times I asked him and he said it was done from their side. There are some problems with KAON STB and he asked me to do the Factory resetting and tune again for the udpate. I did it. After that so many channels were missing. In UAE we get 127 channels including the Sun network. After reset, I am getting only 104 now. What will be the problem? Can any one tell me what I have to do get back the channels. Now also, Sun channels are showing Conditional Access.

Have u done a "Channel Search"? This will update all the channels available (including the ones you have not subscribed). And you will be able to view only the channels you have subscribed.

Yes! after channel search, I get only 104 channels and it shows some channels which I have not subscribed also. But some channels for which I have subscribed are totally missing from the channel list itself, like for example, Raj TV, Kalignar TV etc.

Also check your signal strength and quality.If you are getting low quality signal then slightly adjust your dish to get better quality signal.

But how come signal strength will become low all of a sudden after factroy restore settings!

All of a sudden it won't affect the factory settings.I am asking the signal strength of your box?.Even if the signal is low you cannot get some channels.

Happened to mee too venky.. I did not receive Vijay, Raj, Kalaignar channels but then I had to shell out Rs.150 for the Dish TV guy who did something and hola.... The channels are back... 🙂 Might be u wanna try that part. If ur Signal Quality is lower than Signal strength then this problem might occur. If not then I guess some error @ Dish TV's end!

Means they did something on the STB or from their end itself. Because, I cannot take the STB to DishTV service centre as I am in Middle East. Please clarify

Then i just suggest you to contact customer care and ask about your problem... i think they will be able to give some satisfactory answer for that.

usually when we buy the DTH and we use it for the first time... it says something like "Installing... please wait" or something like that. Maybe when u restored the factory settings, this installation may have been undone. And thats the reason u r not getting all the channels... Better shell out some bucks, like Amuthan said, and call a DishTV serviceman and get the stuff rectified by those guys itself.

But as I told earlier, I cannot do that as the connection is in Middle East
