honestly, the card page does mention this:

Redeem your Reward Points for gifts from Shop & Smile Program

I am pretty sure that points can be used on their rewards program platform. Air Miles is just an option you have.

SBI Card Rewards program - Redeem Reward Points | SBI Cards

they have vouchers for Amazon which is what i prefer to go for on my standard chartered card.

@Sushubh ohh let me check then... Not completely useless then... I guess... If I can use it in Amazon or other..

Right - Co-branded cards like Snapdeal HDFC / Landmark Rewards SCb etc.. which give loyalty points to be used only with that brand

@Sushubh thanks a lot for finding it out... can be used in bigbazar also. I see... I was worried just now... but now relieved... ! Thanks a lot bro...

@mhsabir seems sushubh found out how to use rewards on other sites also... this card can be used in both vouchers and airmiles

@Sushubh bro I didn't have much choice of cards as I am not yet JOB holder, and I am a student. I applied for this card by showing my ICICI Credit card made using Fixed Diposit..

I mainly needed card for shopping and EMI , .. Will think of other cards after 3/4 months when I get a job (I am in Btech 4th Yr now)

well... keep the expenses in control considering you do not have an income source at the moment. only order for stuff that you can pay for at that very moment.

@Sushubh Yes I do that very carefully , even pay before time... Dont use much of credit other than the items I am sure that I can afford...

Loyalty points are like discount returns which can be used to get other shopping discount and those points can be gained by simply paying for anything , like the AirIndia cards give 2 points on transaction for 100rs...

also do remember that sbi card charge a fee for cheque payments of under Rs. 2,000.

@Sushubh I don't much, rather don't use cheque as a form of payment, I use only online card or POS machine for payments..hope that won't cause any additional charge ..

My HDFC MoneyBack gives cashback as loyalty so its good. Too bad, I got a replacement card & I dont remember the details & end up using my ICICI a lot which has less benefits, but I remember the details for online. Only thing is that too I am able to convert to Mobikwik which is almost as good as I can use it for purchases/bill payments - but ends up costing me 25+taxes for every 1000 rupee redemption (which in turn is earned at the rate 0.25p per 100 Rs)
