Already have Shield 3GB-32GB....

Needed for additional TV.....

Earlier thought of getting a good box from AliExpress...... but after previous bad experience with AliExpress.... so don't intend to.....

other than that.... these boxes listed on ebay/ Amazon/ flip etc... don't seem good enough....

And casting seems a good option....

Checked out Anycast stick at one of the shop..... Was offered at 830Rs...... but as you said..... the compatibility issue with many phones... the shopkeeper could/ knew only through MiraCast which my phone (I had at that time did not support)..... I will visit him tomorrow with the other old Sony phone which supports screen mirroring.......

But most people do not know how to set up Anycast properly and have it on your WiFi network....

Checkout the attached video for configuring Anycast....

So will buy Anycast tomorrow, only if it is able to configure properly on WiFi......

@ijsa Miracast comes with lag problem and also battery drains fast whereas in airplay mode battery drain is least and you could use an app called allconnect to share youtube media to anycast, it plays real-time without any lag.

Thx.. @Bsnl Super User ..... I'll keep that in mind....

MiraCast was to be only used to check the device....... as it is a China product....... so the shopkeeper does not offer any warranty..... you can only check the product before buying using MiraCast....

@ijsa Bro, Anycast has both Mircast and Airplay, It has one button on the side to change mode. Yes, It's chines product but product looks well built, I am using it as wireless repeater, Its range is much better than any single 5dbm antenna router I have, I am using it for 1.5 years mostly on 24x7 because in my house no one switches off power chord of TV, It still working very fine without getting heated up.

What is Mircast ?

Err...not really from what I know. Its more of a standard. Devices supporting the standard can exchange data. Hence your android phone which supports Miracast is able to talk to the HDMI stick which also supports Miracast and send info (your Android screen content) to it & since HDMI stick is connected to your TV it is able to play it there...

@Zexen Switch the anycast to Airplay mode, Then connect Anycast to Home wifi network. Your Home wifi network will get repeated via Anycast-wifi network. You don't need to keep TV on for wifi repeating to work just keep the anycast USB powered.

@mhsabhir I agree, I thought he was asking about What is the use of Miracast mode in any wireless stick as evident from the previous discussion going on this thread.

@Bsnl Super User ....... need some more help with Anycast....... bought 2 pcs today..... one for my friend....

although I can use it with or without AllConnect..... set up on my LAN.... etc...

One issue which I am struck ...... I have setup my router with static ip for all devices.....

I do not want to change that setup and go for dhcp......

But in this anycast WiFi setup...... I do not find any option to assign static ip for Anycast dongle.....

Any solution for this...... or any workaround at router end......

If you want to use mircast mode then no need to setup anything, Just login to anycast wifi network then choose Mode as Miracast standard then restart your Anycast that's it. Next time your anycast will not create any wifi network rather it will show waiting for the connection on your PC screen. In your phone go to setting wireless display or cast screen option then tick enable wireless display if already not done, then you could see any cast in the list ( you need to keep your wifi on beforehand) Jus tap on Anycast and your entire mobile display will be mirrored in TV, that's it. You could connect to your home wifi network as usual as before if you need internet, No changes needed. I usually watch JIOTV using this mode as they don't support airplay. You need to setup anycast wifi only if you want to use airplay which will not be needed if Miracast works in your case. In airplay mode you can't setup static IP in anycast, The one assigned in anycast is final.

Thx. buddy....
The things are working exactly as told by you.....

But this is what I want to change...
In airplay mode you can't setup static IP in anycast, The one assigned in anycast is final.

I think, I will have to go for DHCP with reserved addresses..... to emulate static ip.....

Miracast is a battery drainer...

What resolution you are getting/ using on Tv/ LED... It was supposed to be FHD....but I am getting 720.... may be because of the max. resolution of the mobile used....

@ijsa No, you will get 1920x1080 at 30fps or 720p at 60fps(Here resolution of Mobile isn't important). There must be an option of the same on the anycast airmenu. If no such thing present then just update your anycast device by pressing on check for updates, You will get that option. I usually prefer 720p for gaming because of higher refresh rates and 1080p for JIOTV and other apps.

But why you need static IP for anycast? For CCTV 's or anything else.

It is just the way I have setup my home network.......

And I have seen endorsing the rules in network with IP address are more effective as compared to mac addresses...... i.e. I set a rule for my sons mobile device to have internet at particular hours...... but was not effective, he hacked it out by changing IP.... only after fixing and binding IP,the rules were effective.....

Where is the update option???
