Applied for new connection, but nobody contacted since ever.

How long does it took you to get a new connection installed?

Hi,

I live Pitampura (near Saraswati Vihar), Delhi. On excitel website it shows that my area is covered. I applied for new connection through their website last week, but didn't get any call. Two days back I called CC for new connection, the lady on phone confirmed that my area is covered and an executive will call within 24 hrs, but, no call yet.

Is there any other way to apply, or to know why the engineer is being so lazy to call me and install a new connection?

Please share your experience of getting new Excitel connection.

Thanks

Excitel doesn't respond to Google Form on their website anymore. Look for Excitel flyers in your area. There should be a phone number stamped in there, call that number instead.

I live in a gated society, hence, don't get any flyers or billboards on walls. I tried calling the number you left in PM, but the guy said he looks after dabri area (or badli area, didn't hear him properly) only. He said that he will drop my contact in their group and somebody will contact me soon.

Still waiting for their call.. Will try to contact CC again today.

Finally got the connection installed.

I called the CC again and got the LCO's number. Initially, the LCO was not interested (or was being lazy in this hot weather) as he had to install new wires to reach my house (my house was approx 30 mtr away from their last connection), but then Excitel sales guy visited my house and asked LCO to install the new cables.

The sales guy took 2145 in cash. 1145 for 995 plan, 500 for router (cheap tentis router) and 500 for installation. The cables and connection were installed the same day in the evening.

My review after installation:
1. Not getting peering speed of 30mbps on any website/torrents/direct download, etc. The guy who installed the connection said that the speed mentioned on website is 25mbps download and 30mbps upload (probably he can't think of any other foolish explanation) which sum up to 55 mbps

2. The download speed is good, I am getting around 25 mbps download and almost same upload speed.

3. The connection speed is not consistent. At many times the speed fell to 1-2 mbps for almost 5-10 min intervals.

4. A private IP is assigned (in the range of 10.x.x.x) instead of a public IP. This can be a problem for gaming, CCTV streaming, or many other things. I would prefer if they can provide public IP (preferably static) at some additional cost.

It's been only a day, so not sure how good they would be in fixing the problems. In all, very good service at this price.

1145 is inclusive of taxes.. isn't it same for others as well here?

Try connecting cable directly to Pc and create a pppoe connection, if you get full speeds then it is the problem with cheap router

easiest way to check 30mbps is to connect to excitel server on speedtest.net.

I tried that the first thing after the installation. I removed the cheap router and connected the line directly to my PC (and now it is connected to my load balancer). However, the speeds are same, i.e. around 25mbps.

@Sushubh Excitel server is no longer available on Speedtest.net (maybe temporarily)
