My lCO came to collect monthly rent yesterday and enquired about my broadband usage and asked me if I am interested in taking internet line from him. I have asked him several questions and came to know that it is from TCCL named TIC FIBER.

As there is no official announcement regarding plans, out of curiosity I have asked him whether it is FUP based or fully unlimited and he confirmed both FUP and Unlimited plans are there. Basic plan starts 1Mbps for 400 Rs and 4Mbps for 800 Rs fully Unlimited No FUP. FUP plan sounds good too like 20Mbps 500GB FUP for 999 Rs post that 1Mbps. Official launch on April 14th 2017.

This is what i manged to get from him. Anyone from Chennai heard about TIC FIBER

I got this from another forum.

I heard about this from my LCO last week. All of the plans he said/speculated sounded too good to be true. He also said there will be 25 Mbps truly unlimited for Rs. 1500.

Thanks @manojrk plans look promising and attractive. 5Mbps for 500 rs is a delight. I would surely go with the basic plan if the hathway works fine or else i will dump hathway and subscribe for 100Mbps 500GB plan.

I'm paying 1299+15% for Act so I end up paying 1500 bucks p/m. So(999+15%) 1149 for hathway + 575(500+15%) for TIC Fiber comes to 1724, So if i shell out an extra 230, I could use both these shockers. I know i am getting a head of myself but can't help it.

I know right! I can't help it either. Probably the pricing is inclusive of taxes, there are no mention of it. Even with taxes I'm paying twice the amount for almost 35 percent less data when compared to the 700GB plan. I've been with Airtel for like forever so I'm not really used to deal with any outage. I hope it's reliable to be my primary connection when I go for it next month.

I totally agree with you. No matter how many ISP comes and offers any kind of plan, it is always wise to keep Airtel's basic plan as a backup.

any contact details? is having a cable connection a prerequisite for getting this connection? doubt even ACT/Cherrinet could match this FUP.

^ You have to contact your LCO for more details. You don't have to have any cable connection. Broadband will be delivered via GPON. If your LCO is with SCV or Arasu cable then you're out of luck.

^ Nice, they also reduced the rental for FUP plans. My LCO is no longer with TCCL. Is it possible for me to get a connection from TIC?

You should call them after 14th April and find out, I have tried calling but not getting connected.
