********.....wat i was getting at Rs 450 now comes at 495 plus maintenanceDont know what i will renew for now.Better I quit and get free offer 100 MB webspace from cancer ....huh

lol...so true...but the saddest part is that those morons have removed the best pack they had, 128 kbps night unlimited!!!

Even i have noticed the same. how does the 96 kbps connection cost half of a 64 kbps connection..guess this has got some thing to do with the conetention ratios

The increase in price in thier packages clearly shows there is dead competeion between the ISPs...they are @ ease that people have no other options

actually, I think they are trying to remove all packages below 256 kbps.If you look at it, these people have smartly removed the various blatantly illegal measure they undertook.1. Unlimited - now clearly mentioned as a limited "family pack"2. Mention deduction of validity.Only point they are yet to do is make evrything "true TRAI" bband. So they remove all packs below 256 kbps. Then they are in the clear and all our complaints will be of no use.

they are slowly removing 128 kbps Night Unlimited ,which was the only good pack they had,and tring to force everbody to move to 256 kbps and still keeping their stupid download limits  according to sify normal user downloads only 25mb maximum a dayso what are we -abnormal userslook at their Terms and Conditions_bbsify from Terms of Sify Broadband Access"To give you a perspective a normal user can browse very freely within the day and still not utilise the 150 MB limit. Here is a typical usage of the normal userDownload 5 songs - 25 MB (approx 5 MB per song but varies from song to song) Mail usage and standard browsing - 20 MB (an hour of chat consumes only 2 MB per hour and an hour of emailing takes just about 8 MB per hour)Exceptional downloads - 20 MB (varies day to day)Actual Utilisation on a normal day - 65 MBFurther available Limit - 85 MBOur usage analysis (based on actual usage patterns) show that an average user uses approx 25 MB in a day. Thus, 150 MB is 6 times more than the average daily usage thereby making it more than sufficient to meet your day to day requirements. We are confident that with this step all users will have an even better experience with Sify Broadband."making these foolish calculation and they are still confident, can't they are able to think if anybody wants 25 mb ,why he'll take 256kbps ,dialup is more than enough for him..

The link http://www.sifybroadband.com/price.php?opt...text_val=Mumbai

This link shows all the new packs. But when you click the renew button , you are taken to the link http://sify.com/shopping/category.php?pid=13169174 where there is no mention of the new packs and heights is that the 128 kbps 6 month unlimited is :
Unlimited 6 Months 128 kbps Renewal Pack
Upto 128 kbps
Valid for 6 months
List Price : 4,995.00

Can anyone tell me from where i have to renew --bbclient or sifymall or this sify.com -- or the irritating cto? i am totally confused and the call centers are even in more bad state of mind as they are blank on the real prices of mumbai renewals. I have no idea of real price+cto charges of packs to decide which should I buy.

Be careful while doin that. I, once, lost 450 bucks coz i forgot to note down the authorisation code and the link with the server broke. The bank said account debited while sify denied receiving payment.

happened to me once.......but my money was debited back to my account after talking to the CC

if u hav online statement available..then u can get ur code...
...the authorisation code is the cheque number in the statement.(atleast in HDFC it is) B)

BTW 128kbps pack has been removed, but I asked my CTO for it, and he gave it to me!Sify's orders take time to filter thru

on 256 kbps pack I get 256 kbps.Full speed, downloads (small attachments/PDFs) go at 30-35 kBps. So I have no speed problems. Indeed, speed has never been a problem, except that the connectivity sucks, and keeps on going on and off, which of course lowers speeds during those days. But when it runs, Sify runs fine (speedwise)

well, u can't judge the speed with small files...coz it starts downloading the moment u click on "download"...and by the time u click on "save" it already has downloaded quite a bit...so for 256 kbps connection even 1 MB file is not a good measure to calculate the speed...download some bigger file like 5 MB or something and then see if u're getting the speed what u're saying...constantly!!!
